  • College sports is a wildly lucrative industry, and the NCAA is actively - and aggressively - restricting college athletes from receiving payment for their name, images and likeness (NIL). A bill proposed by Senator Wicker to Senator Cantwell would allow that to continue.
In multimillion & multibillion dollar deals with broadcasters, the NCAA and its members reap huge financial rewards from using the names, images and likenesses of college students on television. In 2016 the NCAA negotiated an extension of its multimedia contract for broadcasting rights to March Madness, under which the NCAA will receive $1.1 billion per year.
Tell Senator Cantwell & Senator Wicker no.
