    I like Jenkins a lot. And as much as I loved Johnny Newton the fact remains that he did not test. All he did was get measured. Jenkins is 6’3’’ 300 pounds and has 34 inch arms. He ran 4.91 with a 30 inch vertical 9’7’’ broad jump and did 29 reps on the bench press. DJ Reader did 30 reps on the bench so they are basically the same upper body strength. And Jenkins dad was a Pro Bowl/All Pro DT and his uncle, Cullen Jenkins, was the same size as Kris jr is and played for the Packers and has 49 career sacks. So he comes from
    A great line of defensive tackles.

    Jenkins can rush the passer. He had a healthy amount of pressures at Michigan. And he didn’t benifit, like Murphy did, of playing beside a monster like Sweat. And whatever pass rush skills Jenkins lacks we got a dam good defensive line coach that will coach him up to be better.

    Kris Jenkins RAS is 8.98. Soooo he is pretty dam athletic. McKinley Jackson has a RAS of 3.52. Before you start tripping that’s normal for a Nose Tackle. Pretty much all nose tackle not named Dexter Lawrence have a bad RAS. For instance DJ Readers RAS is 2.01. So 2.01 vs 3.52.

  • @NathanDean79

    Loved the draft. Wish we could have gotten Newton in round 2 but Jenkins was my next pick after Murphy and Newton. I wish we had gotten Cade Stover the TE from Ohio State in round 4 but I guess they liked All better. Josh Newton is good but DJ James and another CB from Auburn was still available. I know he was just drafted for depth but man DJ James was a starting level SEC CB. But I like Newton too. Before TCU he went to ULM which is my alma mater and he is from Louisiana as am I. Lastly I wish they would have gotten the Center out of Arkansas Beaux Limmer in round 6 before the Rams got him. I have a feeling he will be a Pro Bowler in a couple years. I like Matt Lee a lot too and he was my pick after Limmer. They are both athletic with RAS scores of over 9.00. Like the safety they got out of Ole Miss oh and LOVE the edge out of Ole Miss Cedric Johnson. I think they found something there. I can’t believe he was still available in round 6. He is a fucking beast! 6’3’’ 260 lbs runs 4.63 with a 38 inch vertical and did 25 reps on the bench press. I guess Cam Sample will get traded or go to the practice squad this year. But dam it I like Cam Sample too. He can play DT or DE. They may have to just carry 6 DEs this year and 4 DTs and Sample can play the 5th DT when needed. I would tell sample to get his weight up to 282 so gain 10 pounds and I would use him more on the interior this year. And McKimnley Jackson was the #2 Nose tackle in the draft. He is good. Big time run stopper who can push the pocket and pressure the QB. Love him. No Nose Tackle had a great RAS. For instance coming out of Clemson DJ Readers RAS was 2.01 LOL. Jackson’s RAS is 4.98 which is great for a nose tackle. Reader and Jackson have almost the same 40 time. Reader
    Is 5.27 and Jackson is 5.26. At testing Reader weighed in at 327 and Jackson weighed 326. Jackson is an inch shorter than Reader. He is 6’2’’ and I think he will play at 330 pounds. He will be a good player for us. Kris Jenkins was the second best run defending DT this year after Devondre Sweat. Jenkins was an All American and All Big 10. Some people think that doesn’t mean anything. I say yes it does. It means a group of people who know football
    Thought he was a pretty good player. I like the TE from
    Arizona too.

    James what the hell are you talking about?? You said they tried to get more explosive at WR last year and failed?? How do you figure? Tee Higgins runs a 4.59 or he did at the Combine. Boyd ran 4.58. So they wanted more explosion right so they drafted Charlie Jones 4.43. Andrei Iosivas 4.43 but I believe he is even faster than that. And they signed Shedrick Jackson 4.25 forty yard dash. How’s that for explosion. And then there is Chase Brown who ran 4.43 at the combine but was clocked on GPS running either the fastest or second fastest of any ball carrier In the NFL last year. So again I ask wtf are you talking about. It seems to me they got A LOT more explosive last year.

    • @dabombgiggity123
      @dabombgiggity123 25 дней назад

      It just didn’t result in any significant increase in explosive plays. And I know you know there’s a lot more to being explosive than just being fast. Like you said, Tee isn’t fast but he’s given us a bunch of explosive plays in the last 4 years

  • @bigj6143

    Praise and grades are not performance or results. Time will tell. Players already on the team need to play better. Last season was not just attributed to Burrows injury. In fact, Burrows and for a time Higgins and Chase were the only key guys lost to injury. Rest of the roster, super bowl contenders, was in tact. I know DJ Reader got hurt late also but teams were already running and passing over the Bengals defense at will prior to that. Aside of Hendrickson, and WR corps, Backup QB not withstanding cause you hope you won't need him unless it is garbage time, so many have to be better prepared and play better. Expectations have become very high like it should be.

      I agree. Kris Jenkins has a ton of untapped backfield production that he didn't get to show off because of the UM D. A. Hutchingson is a better pass rusher as a pro than he was at UM. Jenkins will be the same.
      This drat reminded me a lot of the the 2016 draft where people had 2 3T as pass rush killers in Sheldon Rankins and R. Ndemiche. The go like 13th and 26th or something. But there was a guy who dominated a major college in run D and had tons of untapped potential as a pass rusher who goes in round 2 and is the best of the bunch. He just went early round 2 in 2016.

    The 2025 NFL Draft will be loaded with great DT/NT's. The Bengals would be wise to draft one early. BJ Hill only has one year left on his contract and Sheldon Rankins was only signed to a two year deal. Time to add another Geno Atkins type of player. Besides DT/NT, drafting a G, CB and WR are also areas of need if Tee Higgins is traded or leaves via free agency.

Sweat was the best run defender In the country last year and Jenkins was the second best run defender in the country. But Sweat didn’t do the bench press. Jenkins did 29 reps which is a lot but Sweat don’t participate in that. I wonder why? I think it’s because he relies on his mass a lot
