Everything is stock except for the speakers themselves - even the wires are stock. I later changed the head unit; there was a significant improvement there.
always confuses me why they didnt opt to install better stock speakers. Maybe £100 added production cost? Anyway it's easy enough for us to upgrade. I imagine many toyotas going about autotrader have one of these nice upgrades by now
Not quite sure what you're trying to say there, but we believe that whether or not a speaker upgrade is worth it to you is completely up to you; each set of ears is different, and we all have different preferences. We recommend trying different options and picking something that suits your budget and listening style!
These speakers are "co-axial" speakers, meaning they have tweeters mounted on top of the woofer cones (therefore we have 4 woofers and 4 tweeters mounted in the stock positions). However, we do not have any separate tweeters installed (such as on the doors or on the dash).
This is without an amp - only the speakers and spacers (the speaker's mounts) were changed, everything was left stock, including all the wiring and radio.
@@675nt9you need to amp them! The difference between stock and Focals is not even close to what will happen after an amp. It will go from 2x better to 10x. Get a kicker key 200.4 with DSP. $270 and easy to install with the wiring harness you can buy from crutchfield
Definitely need an amp. I have JBL components and sounded really good with the stock radio. Once I put an amp connected into the amp high level inputs. The speakers really shine, way cleaner and powerful. Although it may sound good without an amp but you’re really missing the full potential of your speakers.
I DEFINITELY hear the difference. I’m just curious if you upgraded the stock head unit or added a DSP or low pass filter. Or is this is all stock except the speakers.
We'll try to get one done, but that may be difficult as here in Thailand the Vios is being phased out, in favor of the Yaris Ativ (basically a 4-door Yaris with the same 1.2 liter engine).
@@penontonyoutube6006 we disagree - if nobody cared about soundstage, car manufacturers wouldn't invest so much in the R&D of speakers, both in terms of the physical design and also the software, in order to create a better sound stage.
@@675nt9 but for coaxial with that price can u get sound stage? i dont think so. We can get Sound stage with 2 way component speaker & dsp. Even with stock speaker just install dsp can get sound stage
Night and day comparison. Excellent improvement. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching - appreciate your feedback!
Thanks for that comparison , really good.
Obviously huge improvement. Thanks for sharing.
Good comparison. thx
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect video thank you
We're glad you enjoyed it!
Alot more crisp the Focals
Theres definitely a difference. I know its hard to hear from the mic but did the bass get any better?
i tried listening with my eyes shut. absolutely i can tell which is which between the 2 simply because i have the Polikevlar 165K for years ;)
Stocks playing not bad
It's not bad, but it could be much better. It lacks depth and detail, with a lot of bass and not much mid and almost no highs.
did you installed amp or only speakers with stock audio player?
Thinking about getting these for my 2015 impala by chance did you use a amp or is this stock?

@@675nt9 okay Thank you! My stock speakers are going out and looking for replacement / better speakers.

Add the kicker key200.4, you won't disappoint
Are you using a subwoofer?
No, just the regular speakers in the stock positions.
Do you have subwoofer in the upgraded setup, along with Focals?
Sadly not!
What was that song?? Name pls………
It's "Look Up At The Stars" by Shawn Mendes.

Correct - everything is stock, even the wires and mounting points.
