How to Inlay Avocado Seed without glue - Tutorial | Natural Jewelry Making

- Hi! In this video I'm talking about how to set something in my avocado carvings without any glue. And the most important part is making a proper space in a fresh/soft seed for the object (could be anything of your choice) to set in, and never comes out when the seed is dried and hardened.
The process seems to be really easy, but it's actually hard to complete without a few chips or cracks on the surface after the seed dries. If you've encountered these problems, hope this video would help you achieve a better result :)

I'm not fluent in English, and I'm very glad to be able to understand you perfectly. You speak very well!.
But mainly, thanks for the teachings. I'm from Brazil and last week I started drying my avocado seeds in the directly sunshine and realized that some of them cracked, like you said, and they became orange and not so dark as yours.
Now, let's try again!!
Thanks again.

i learned scrimshaw in horn and bone i thought with this avocado i could combine. My question is whether this dried avocado is strong and durable. I want to make a necklace pendant with avocado. is there a video about pendants
There is! Not sure if this video has the answers to your questions, but give it a try :) ruclips.net/video/jeRxurlRORg/видео.html
I've been following your amazing art work, when it comes to the avocado jewelry you are my main reference, the top expert-just incredible what you are doing!I've been carving avocados myself but lately I"m trying to insert the stone on fresh and also dry avocados. In both cases they cracked really bad. I was very careful with the fresh avocado seed to leave some 20% extra space but shrikes much more than I could ever imagine...While with the dryvavocado seeds, I didn't left the extra space, cause was supposed to be dry like and hard like a stone, but to my surprise, it cracked anyway...I will try to dry it in the shadow slowly...I'm living in a hot area. I want to ask you: how long does it take for you to dry your avocado seeds?
Hii! When I was in the U.K., it’s usually cold and dry, and the seeds could dry within a week or two. When I was in Taiwan, it’s much warmer and higher humidity, I need to dry the seeds under the sun for a few hours, depending on the humidity, and keep the seeds in a dry room. It could take two weeks or more to dry. However, in the rainy days, the fungus grow before the seeds dry…
Another factor is the breed of avocado, some varieties have higher chance of producing seeds that is firmer and low in water content, that makes the seeds easier to dry and shrink less. Those varieties available to me are Hass, Fuerte and perhaps Pinkerton. I would pick the seed that is harder and firmer to inlay, which could increase the chance of success :)
Thank you so much for your comment and questions! I totally forgot to mention about the varieties in my videos (sorry!) Hopefully my answer could help a little bit:)
Couldnt agree more 🥰
