I met Helen at a party a very long time ago. I was very loosely involved in the arts and there was no agenda. I didn't know who she was nor any inkling of how great she was to become. We spent an inordinately long time just talking. I never met her again I remember her and the conversation. It stays with me still. Bless you, Helen.

What a wonderful Artist - her intelligence, talent, charisma, sense of humour...her voice, beauty, body language...I could go on and on! Helen McCrory will always live in our hearts and our minds.
Helen was an extraordinary actress and really understood the roles she performed, she was taken too soon. My thoughts are with her family. May she rest in peace.
Great actors are very intelligent and hard working people. They do extensive research and approach their roles with great intellect about the role and their own craft. Brilliant.
Amazingly talented actress with such a huge personality, what a loss to her husband Damian, to her friends and family and to the World of Acting, taken too soon with so many more roles ahead.
Rest in peace Helen McCrory! Having grown up into a young woman watching you, I felt I knew you and my heart is broken so I cannot imagine how Damian and the kids feel! Love to them. You were an astonishing actress on stage snd on screen an those of us lucky enough to watch you in sure we are all devastated by your passing. Nothing will be the same, all the long line of cv but especially medaia and Peaky blinders you are so controlled yet show, so much emotion. I looked up to you as an actress and thought of you as a national treasure! Best wishes to everyone and rest i peace. In the bleak midwinter…😥😓😘🌈❤️

Helen McCoy kept her business to do herself because she refused to be a victim, some people get cancer and tell everyone because they need that attention 🥴 my mother died at a young 42 meaning she only turned 42, of lung cancer 🚬🚬🚬 My mother never complained, she just got one with it,never left the house because she couldn't stand being treated as a victim by our neighbours or friends, not that she didn't feel their comfort, but she couldn't bear the Awwwwwwww HOW ARE YOU, HOWS YOUR BREATHING. 🙄 She refuse to use a wheelchair ♿. She was still young and was so strong & brave, that she thought she was going 2 beat the cancer. The tumour was the size of a tennis 🥎 and investigated every part of her beautiful body. The cancer left its evil every where in her body, expecting her to die staight away. She was only meant to last 6-7 weeks, but the cancer had a major fight on it, as my beautiful lrish young mother stuck around for 8 months . 💚🤍🧡RIP HELEN love from the rich Teddy bear 🧸 lsland of lreland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪RIP MA, YOUR CHARACTER RESIDUES IN MY SOUL WHICH IM SO .LUCKY 2 HAVE.☮🛐💜
@@leonaneill9391 I am so sorry for the loss of your mother so young- but I wonder if it is right that there is only one or two "right" ways to respond to being ill. People are so different- I'm sure some people get the "attention" they need from their families, but some don't have them or don't get what they need from them. Anyone who goes through cancer is strong and brave and unique. Blessings to you and your mother.
@@debra13 Thank you 4 ur kind words. Every one is different. But like Helen my mother refused to be negative and kept positive & was a warrior threw the private experience. They are in a good place now. Cancer makes millions, even billions a year in charity. They have a new 💊 medicine that breaks down cancer ♋ cells, but it is only available to money. Patients on the HSE in lreland r not provided with this new medication. Patients on the NSH in England r not provided with this new medication. How unfair is that. The amount of money that does be raised for cancer from people in my community. If their loved ones are on the HSE, they won't be provided for with this new break threw medication. I really hope when one dies that you go to the biggest court of all, Jesus court 🙏 because people, l wouldn't even call them human! Can't get away with greediness anymore. Thank you National Theatre for this incredible video and for launching ntathome. I could subscribe and watch Medea there and Helen McCrory's performance was so fearless and entrancing that I couldn't think of much else for days.
So so sad. Will miss her on stage terribly. And how graceful she is. She was Yelena in the Vanya that Sam Mendes put on the Donmar ( along with twelfth night) when he left - for the previews, she was blond and when she entered the room, there was a wow, she was absolutely stunning. She went back to brunette later on.
To those who asked, I'm here because I miss her. I went to see 'Walden' last Monday and loved being back yet in the corner of my mind there's a Macrory-shaped hole and I can't help wondering how Damien and the children are faring. I imagine the mark she made in her short, brilliant life will be some compensation. I'd rather another way of knowing she was so special; well I knew on seeing her in 'The Late Middle Classes' in which she excelled as Gray's Mum!
Why is life so cruel? Helen was an exceptional actress with so much more she would have gone on to achieve. AND it would seem she had a very happy marriage. I'm so sad for her and all her family..
I often wonder if we are meant to think Medea left the boys dead, she was determined to not give the boys bodies back and we know she can resurrect people as that is how she tricked Pelias' daughters into killing him. We have to remember that Medea's passion is explained by her lineage. She is part god but that god was a titan, not an Olympian. The titans were the primal forces of nature. So if she is fiery and tempestuous, well she comes from the Sun titan and an Oceanid.
