In an interview Troy said that you have to be a little bit crazy to play the Uillean Pipes because it is very hard to learn to play it. And he really is a master of this instrument. I love this song; the boys obviously had a lot of fun on stage. And I am always astonished how Tuomas can headbang so hard and play his keyboards at the same time.
Here the fragment with Troy explaining from the documentary "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (about Floor joining Nightwish) ruclips.net/video/vhExkmWKMEU/видео.html
I visualize soaring low over forests and remote field and river spaces. Very Celtic vibe which pops up in various Nightwish songs. Love the joyful feelings, and fun the band has with it.
It is always so joyfull feeling when i see another reaction from you 😊 edit. almost forgot, there are lyrics to this song (in finnish), but i think it works well without them.
The flute is the Tin Whistle (Irish flute) The Uillean pipes are extremely hard to play. I love the more subtle warmer tone of these pipes. Floor joined Nightwish as stand in, during this tour. Troy and Floor indeed became steady members 2 months after this concert. Thanks sir.
This song has lyrics In Finnish. It is called "Erämaan viimeinen" In Finnish, and can be found In RUclips sung by Jonsu of band Indica as a guest vocalist with English subtitles. As a Finn I see images of the Finnish wilds, Lappland.
A little kids' rhyme my father used to tell me when I was about 3 or 4 yrs old: "First I got a wooden whistle. But it wooden whistle. Next I got a steel whistle. But I steel couldn't whistle. Then I got a tin whistle. Now I tin whistle!! "
The flute had a little oopsie. But what impressed me about that is how kept playing, not mising another note after that. It would've been over for me. lol.
This was the last time Floor did a complete outfit change (the wardroom incident), too risky after what happened behind stage during this song. She had to run for the mic in "Bless The Child".
And because you are taking the songs in order, you will see Floor coming rushing out to the next one, and a closer look will show a malfunction zipper under her arm. Zipper finally fixed under Ghost Love Score pause in the middle. 😏. But this song is actually really good, and there is a version with a male singer as well.

It is like i am in a old Irish pub in the 18th century and a pirate comes in with a wooden leg
Haha! I like that description. I can picture it in my mind. Well done.

Troy was playing the Tin Whistle in the middle . NOTE in other song he also plays bigger one's that are called Low Whistles
Very interesting! Thank you for the clarification and added detail. I’ll have to see if I can identify the difference in the future!

I've got so much love for the band, members and music!
Floor and Troy's status with the band was temporary fill-in, but were granted full membership just after this show......
