Never personally met the man, but I can say it is a sight to be seen when he is at the track! I remember freaky fridays at fayettnam seeing the rotaryota. Ira is really a cool guy! I remember him racing his camaro, the yoto and now I luv his box chevy. I actually got to ride in the box before he started big wheel racing when it was a single turbo ls with a blow-thru carb. Reason I got to ride? He drove it from Durham to my buddy house in Wilson, we went for a ride to a local engine builders shop, then back to my buddy house where he took the engine and turbo stuff out and sold it to him. Next thing we know he's sporting twins and fuel injected. Congrats on all the success bro!

Don Weathersbee, Evans, Ga. Love those old impalas. Had a 2-door 1977 fire mist red Caprice, before they were cool. Made clear lexan headlight covers to go over the recessed headlights to smooth out the front end. In ‘78 the head.lights on the caprice came basically like that from the factory. Saw a new style s/s crager wheels. The chrome outer band with gold spokes. They were rare but, looked good with the BFG’s and red body color. Enjoying your videos, especially that 427 you’re running now. I’m about to get a old school 468 with Merlin heads dressed. I’ve heard it run already while it was in is ‘68 c-10. Everything sounded good, except the noisie Pete Jackson timing gear. I’m not a fan. Anyway I want to put it in a Cortez silver ‘69 Chevelle. I want to take the valve covers off to check the rocker arms etc. It now has two 4’s on it and I want to remove that and put the new MSD atomic efi setup. It’s been built a few years but, the good thing is Mike Saye from Carolina Machine personally built it for a friend of his. Since you’re in the drag racing circuit, you might know of Mike Saye holding some of the IHRA records with his camaro over the years. Anyway keep up the good work and thanks for your family friendly channel everyone can enjoy.
