    Only 43 seconds into the video, and I can say... great music selection!!! I am truly trying to paying attention to what you're saying, but since I really want to learn how to play this song, I keep getting distracted by it.

    I think it would be an amazing experience to get connected with the Jet Program, not only does it help the individual, but you are also able to change the hearts and minds of children from the other side of the world with your own experiences. I too would love to be involved in this particular program.

    Hi! First of all, loved your video, it was very informative! You were pretty funny too ^^ (I will be marathoning all other videos you have c: ) My question(s) though; did you have to pay for your own stay in Tokyo? Like for the hotel? Also did you have to pay for your own way to get to where you were staying in Kyoto? How about paying for extra luggage or having to ship belongings to your place, do they help you? I've applied for JET 2017, waiting for a response yet but I'd like to research and know as much as possible beforehand! ^^

    Hello Miss Jessica! How are you? Thank yo so much for this video. Very helpful for JET aspirants like me. May I ask a copy of lesson plan in Japan?

    Do they sponsor your plane ticket or do you have to pay for it with your own money?

    I am an aspiring Jet. I'm going back to school this year for a Bachelor of Arts degree and I'd love to talk to you about your experiences.
    I have many questions. I was wondering if we could email back and forth or even do the skype thing.

    I'm gonna be a jet this year. ALT.
    Helpful video..
    I missed the detail but how long is orientation? I am so bad with staying with other people.. So I hope it isn't too long that I will have to share.... I hope the space is decent at least.

      I think you stay in Tokyo for two nights, if I remember right? Haha.

      Jessica Roh Seems like 3 days 2 nights indeed~
      Though I think perhaps I'l have 3 days and 3 nights because of my flight timing.. hard to tell there.
      Thanks for the response

    How much did you paid in 2015 for your husband's accommodations?

  • @phillippaulbauer5830
    @phillippaulbauer5830 8 лет назад

    This may be a slightly silly question, but I noticed everyone at the orientation was in some kind of suit. Was that a requirement? Or was everyone just like, "Well, I better look like a pro," ?

    • @phillippaulbauer5830
      @phillippaulbauer5830 8 лет назад +1

      Also, was that a piano cover of "Where Is My Mind"?

    • @jmrohcreations
      @jmrohcreations  8 лет назад +3

      Good question!! Yes it was a requirement to dress super duper fancy and professional. The Japanese love suits. LOOOOVES suits. :D

    Hey! I'm hoping to apply for the JET program this year, with my boyfriend. I'm worried a) about how hard it is to get accepted, but also b) if it's possible/how easy it is to get placed in the same city. You mentioned you had a husband, how did he fit into all of this? Do you have any advice or had you like, encountered someone in my situation? I'm from NZ if that makes any difference regarding the ease of the application/acceptance/placement
    Your video was super informative btw! :)

    • @jmrohcreations

      Thank you for your comment!! Those are good questions! Firstly I had my spouse on my application as my dependant. As long as you're married you can bring your spouse with you. Otherwise you cannot choose to be placed in the same place if you're both applying as girlfriend and boyfriend. JET will place you anywhere. But if they are your dependants then they can stay with you, but they cannot work. Also the application process can be very tedious and difficult but it is worth it. It's competitive so you have to do things right away. In the interview you should show your passion for Japan and teaching. :) I hope this helped!

      Hey, yeah no, that's super helpful.Thanks :) This is turning out to be a lot harder than we thought, it's a little disheartening :( A big thing is that if we're moving to Japan, we obviously want to be together

    • @jmrohcreations
      @jmrohcreations  8 лет назад

      +Diana Xavier I completely understand. You should try talking to the JET coordinator in your city! See what they say about working in the same area as your spouse. There is a married couple here where they're both ALTs! It IS possible maybe! :) Keep your chin up! Fighto Fighto!!

    So did your spouse go with you to orientation? Also are you both on the same cell phone plan? What about bank cards for your spouse? Also any other info about bringing a dependent over would be greatly appreciated :) p. S. Your vids are super helpful btw.

    • @jmrohcreations
      @jmrohcreations  8 лет назад

      Thank you for your comment! Those are excellent questions! I did go to Orientation with my spouse because we both came on the same flight. She stayed with me in the hotel in Tokyo as well. I got a cellphone plan, but she didn't. We couldn't find an option that was cheap enough for both of us. Plus we don't speak Japanese so it was very difficult to set it up. My spouse doesn't work so she doesn't have a bank card, but I do. Dependants generally can't work, unless they get a different kind of visa. I hope this helps. :)

      +Jessica Roh thanks for the prompt response :) so did you have to pay extra for her to be in the hotel and ride the bus and what not?

    • @jmrohcreations
      @jmrohcreations  8 лет назад

      +Cam H Yes I did have to pay extra for her. It was about $400 for the hotel and $160 for the train ride to Kyoto. Luckily I got reimbursed for it. Our ALT Manager looked into it and discovered we could get our money back. :)

    • @camh2899

      +Jessica Roh REALLY! Everywhere I read says it's an extra cost you incurred & couldn't get it back that's soooo COOL!!!

      Hello. Thank you for your comment. As long as you have a degree, a love for Japan, and you can speak fairly fluent English, I'm sure you can get into the JET Programme. :)
