    Or, if you'd like to hear from The Edge how he was crafting his cinematic guitar tones during the making of Joshua Tree, read this classic interview he did with Tony Bacon when U2 was in the middle of recording it: bit.ly/3H4B8lO

I loves me some dirt, but it's often hard to know in demos, no matter who is making them, what is the amp and what is the pedal. There are far better options, at $229.
      This won’t sound like that Carbon Copy, as it’s a pristine digital delay.
      I’d check the Keeley Andy Timmons deal at out too. There are many dual delays, and multi delays, that can do what this does and more.

    Was it available on New Years Day? I Still Haven't Found What I am Looking For in a reverb pedal. Hopefully I won't be Running To Stand Still when I go to the music store to get this With Or Without You or anyone else. Sounds real good though Even Better Than The Real Thing which I believe was an Electro Harmonix Memory Man. I don't know if I would go To The End Of The World to get it though. My town is not on Google Maps as its Where The Streets Have No Name so I have to go far to a music store. The sound does make me Numb though, the settings work in Mysterious Ways, way beyond a typical reverb/delay pedal so thats what makes it The Sweetest Thing. I'd like to hear it in stereo and real loud like you are in a Discotheque only then I will desire it.

      @jeffball6656 11 месяцев назад +3

      Edge has used Korg SDD3000 and TC 2290 delays.
      His tech, Dallas Schoo helped Korg developed the SDD3000 pedal.
      He used EH Deluxe Memory Man (pre-War album).
      Odd that it’s taken effects makers 40+ years to get to making Edge specific pedals.
      The MXR seems pretty cool.

      It definitely takes time, to really get the most out of, but it can also be simply operated like a pedal board, with basic effects, one into the next. After that, it doesn't take long to realize you can connect an LFO to a control of your choice in a reverb module, and now you are modulating any control you like....and the adventure has begun... @@lennert123

      @@AndyDemos ok that clears it up a little better, If I remember right when they did their roof top LA shoot for a music video they had a rack setup by then. Yeah out of the 80's the Memory Man deluxe was considered the pedal that defined that era and many used it and had their specific sound they developed from it "Live" as an example was a bit later in the 90s.

    Seems like a good "gap filler" pedal for some players in their first 3-5 years who aren't ready to plunge into a H9, Strymon or what have you.
    The name helps it be meme-worthy in a sea of delay pedals, so it was smart marketing at least. The limited control and interfacing is easily beaten by a few dedicated pedals, but it is fine for a lean rig.

    • @dougc84
      @dougc84 11 месяцев назад +7

      not everyone wants to spend an hour designing a delay in a big box effect. i went through that for a long time and my big box effects got sold for smaller, simpler boxes with great sounds and less complexity.
      just play and stop worrying if your delay feedback isn’t 100% accurate to an accidental setting from an album recorded on very different hardware 35 years ago.
