    “Didn’t know it hit me that hard” - yeah, I felt that
    - reminds me of my grandad, when I poked questions about his WW2 experiences. RIP

    Most entertainers of her generation supported our troops, God I was born 50 years to late! Just think she was actually on the front lines working as a nurse, taking care of our boys.❤️

    A great story, but she wasn't "officially" awarded a Green Beret. Like a Kentucky Colonel, it was an honorary title. She couldn't have done the work of an authentic GB. However, she was certainly good for morale, which was her primary duty.
