Another good vid mate, yea the stags are rarely seen on the faces with the hinds from mid march - may - but they,ll roar right on the edges of the open stuff!
Nice one Nic, have always enjoyed your Sika stuff... We flew into back ridge biv with EKH on the 9th for 5 nights, it was bloody quiet & we only heard 2 stags territory calling off either side of back ridge (kiwi mouth creek to the East & off the Southside of the ridge/track leading to rocks ahead) Only spotted one deer in the open, judging by the really fresh sign they were all below the higher mountain beech in the lower red beech eating the leaf litter off the ground, heard a few squeals etc... Apparently the week prior in the same area it was going off with stags calling day & night, convinced these bloody Sika take a break mid rut! Manson country looks great & I’m keen on a visit. Cheers for the vid! 👍
Thanks Greg, glad you like the vids! Haha, yeh I'm sure they do too! Yeh the red beech is always worth a look, they definitely favour that bush type. Book it in mate, lots of great country to explore. A bit of everything to suit all levels of hunters.
