It's a Cali thing but Texas and Cali always had a close relationship as both have influenced each other in some way, form or fashion. Oldschool Cali gangstas used to wear hair barrettes and hair bobbles. Houston style is Southside kats would wear Southside fades with designs in it or a regular fade and Northside kats would wear Braids and some might wear beads in at the end of their braids. Different individuals from both sides might've rocked the opposite sides hair style. Except for the Southside fade that's exclusively a Southside thing hence the name.
