Icom UT106 DSP install to IC 718 HF Tranceiver

I got my radio from Singapore and had no filters inside I love it and bought the DSP shortly after this and love the reduction.

I love this radio, I use NR a lot and it works really well.

The UT-106 DSP filter is AF and not IF processing. This is why the signal becomes unintelligible when you select the highest level of noise reduction. It is an effective option but has its limits.

Such an underrated radio. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. I believe this is the same DSP chip that the IC-706 can use.
Have you done the AGC mode yet? It really makes the receive nice. Even smoother. Just one jumper wire is required.

I have the Icom IC-78, which basically is the same as the IC-718, and purchased the DSP module, but unfortunately my transceiver seems to have a different motherboard and cannot be installed. Is there a way around?

You need to work on your video sound recording!!! The radio audio was TOO LOUD and would override your voice.. made for uncomfortable watching. Install instructions were good.
