Lord give me strength as I struggle to provide for my children both have special needs. As I struggle to pay my rent each month and struggle to pay bills. Well spoken my beloved brother. For balance though, let's clarify some definitions. Let's define the church as believers and not only the senior leaders of the church. By this definition, if 'believers' are called to use 'their' resources to create economic opportunities to increase welfare, then that is sound biblical instruction. If the factories help the poor, then that's Kingdom according to Matthew 25:31-46. Here it is: welfare is the goal of CSR. And the welfare of the people is the corporate social responsibility of the church. Lastly, James carefully admonished that faith without works is dead [James 2:14 onwards]. In context, James was referring to our corporate social responsibility as the church to bring welfare to our neighbour.
