I could feel that you were overjoyed with the pride you felt for Ian and his brilliant journey! I have loved his music and abilities as a horsemanship for years. He has an incredible mind and the ability to share his love for music and equine love with others. Thank you so much for this video! The only thing I regret is that I couldn't be there with you and visit with him.
Thank you for the video. Some of my best days were delivering fuel through the Alberta foothills around Longview in the mid 2000's listening to Ian on the CD player. I would stop and get a coffee and buy a new CD from time to time at Tyson's in Longview. Ian was a customer of ours but I never ever had him on my delivery list. Sure wish I did. I am transported right back when I listen to his songs today. What a privilege to be able to have traveled the back roads thru the foothills right to the base of the Rocky's all along and down and West of Clairsholme and Indian Graves etc. I'd love to be able to Email a message to him. If you ever talk to Ian or Email him please tell him thank you for all the great songs and story's. A true legend. The best song writer and composer of music. There is nothing like it anymore. WOW! You were a guest of honor. Always been my dream to ride horse back across the foothills accompanied by Ian. I often wondered, (if I could ask him,) if he would allow a Nova Scotia cowgirl to respectfully have an hour of horse and saddle time on his ranch. I am quite sure Ian's stories of western life are why my heart belongs in the west. Stay strong Mr. Tyson. Thanks Danny for sharing.
Somewhere in the Rubies is a Navajo Rug, La Primera waits where Four Strong Winds carry us The Gift of Charlie Russel's art and Ian Tyson's rich Canadian stories in Music. Thank you for this video. Keep hitting our hearts with your gooooood Tunes!!!
As a young wanna be cowboy fresh out of the RCN & well into the horse scene . I had the pleasure of meeting Ian at an ON. Rodeo...Was a fan then and being 80 now still top of my list ...as a real cowboy, songwriter, musician, & horse breeder...a Canadian Icon for sure....
Such a pleasure to listen to such western roots! What a beautiful place in the world is the foothills of Alberta! ...and next time if you need a rode' to drive you back for a visit... I'm all in!! Thx for this video!!
