This happened to me I thought the same thing but there was a mangler that spawn on the outside of the church if u pull it towards u with jet gun you can melee it
Happened to me but there was a zombie outside at the graveyard door. Managed to kill it with a energy mine that triggered the next wave. Game do be glitchy af though, especially zombies.
