Hello, am thinking of going for this, do the surgeons usually call out what instruments they want they want to use nxt or do they expect you to just know the next instrument.
Hi Jewel! Every surgeon is different, so I cannot speak for them all, but most will call the name of the instrument out when you are new/learning. But once you become more experienced and have worked with them many times, you begin to anticipate their needs. Meaning you can figure out what they will need next based on their usual routine and/or by watching what they are doing in the surgical wound and knowing what instrument will be needed next to do the next step in the surgical procedure.

😆 small instruments NAMES. While I am here working on a engine 😁. It feels the same when I work at my home in the garage with my dad and just telling him the tool I need 😂😂😂. It's easier that way but at work is different, walk over get your own tools 🤷♂️.
@@italiastaine9514 It honestly seems weird that med stidents dont get taught these kinds lf things. Also scrubing and those kinds of things. I am not in the medical field but it actually kind of worries me
Different type of people in the OR your sterile ones (surgeon , surgical tech (if not a floater) , first assist , non sterile , circulating nurse , anesthesia provider, X-ray and pathology. But they are trained to scrub if that makes sense

Depends on hospital procedures. My school teaches by our home town hospital procedures. Some places are different. We pass to surgeons hand like a pencil for scalpels.

Aren’t you using neutral zone for passing knife or sharps to protect from sharp injury?
thanks for this
Thank you
Great! But what about hands-free technique?
Please upload how to.give free ties in surgical gastro cases
10 blade is not held like a pencil, you overhand it to cut with the belly of the blade!
Wow, that was nice to see

I am interested yo become a surgeon ❤
I thought blades should be places on a kidney basin when passing to a surgeon?
No
Yes always
It depends. You normally have a neutral zone but my school wants us to place in surgeon’s hand like a pencil.
Maybe in school but not in the real world.
In my hospital if surgeon is wearing loop we need to give without kidney dish
Wouldn't you implement a neutral zone for safety with sharps?
Depends on hospital procedures. My school teaches by our home town hospital procedures. Some places are different. We pass to surgeons hand like a pencil for scalpels.
Geez throwing that ten blade around. Where’s the sharps dish?
