Actually,Mal,Jay,Evie and Carlos were not friends before "Rotten to the Core"
Evie and Carlos were friends(I ship them)but Jay and Mal used to bully Carlos.Once,they forced Carlos to do a party at his house.Evie will get invited and then Jay and Mal could bully her.At the party,Jay and Mal closed Evie in Carlos's mom (Cruella) closet.In the closet were the fur of Cruella and it was surrounded with bear traps so that no-one will steal the fur.Carlos saved Evie and since they became friends.Carlos managed to save Evie because Cruella force him every night to sleep in the closet (full of bear traps).Carlos always managed to get out of it to sleep in a room.This explain why he is so flexible.
