  • For the past couple days I have been slipping and sliding all over this roof. At one point I thought I was sliding to my demise. James said I just slipped out of sight. I was able to catch myself at the last second and got right back to work.

    I was so terrified for you being on that slippery roof. I was so sure you were going to fall off and get seriously hurt. I’m just so happy that you are okay. 😊

    Wow it is so scary watching you on that roof. I bet its giving Bonnie massive anxiety. Could you not secure a metal loop on the roof peak to be able to secure a rope now. You could then absail down and use for equiptment pulling and lowering. You are doing a fab job though and the house looks amazing. Love to you all. x

    Hey Joel, with the insulation getting wet from the snow, won’t that cause mold and mildew under your roof

    Where is that safety line and safety harness?? I think they should be a necessity especially working in winter conditions on a slippery metal roof, those rubber boots are just gonna keep sliding when they get wet. But Im happy you by the grace of god got out of this situation unharmed.

    Joel, you were making me and James very nervous. Tennis shoes are not good to wear on metal roofing. I fell sideways in my driveway while making an attempt to staring my truck. I hit a small patch of black ice with tennis shoes on that morning and down i went after hitting my key fob Bouncing like a basketball a couple of times in my driveway. 4 hour surgery with having plate,rod and screws put in place to repair it. Fractured my femur all the way across and chipped it too, right below the joint. 17 days in the hospital and 2 and 1/2 months in a nursing home for rehab. Close to a year of physical and occupational therapy. When I was younger I use to build grain bins. I didn't care for those heights either. Thank goodness my only injury was on ground leve while l was building those grain bin builds in central South Dakota. Be careful, buddy.

    Joel, I know your safe but do not risk your life or injury going forward. If it wasn't you on the roof but someone you loved. Then what measures would you have taken? Do the same for yourself.

    Installing a metal roof in freezing/snowy/icy weather conditions ... without a security line attached ... was beyond unsafe. Falling off that roof - as you almost did - could have ended horribly ... nothing is worth that as you are a special, important person to so many people. The thought of you getting injured made it hard to watch this vlog.

    FAFO, you better start being more careful. You should have done the roof before winter and perhaps neglect the irrelevant stuff inside your home.

  • @janetdamboise6225
    @janetdamboise6225 6 месяцев назад +3

    Can't you wear those winter cleats on you boots and not slide so much or would that ruin the roof? That's so scary to watch Joel!!!

    • @darlenemateri6521
      @darlenemateri6521 5 месяцев назад +1

      You can't wear yak tracs on metal roofing. He for sure would fallen wearing those. Tennis shoes shouldn't be used either. A harness would have been way better. Honestly, I would have waited until spring to finish the shop if it was me.

    Is saving a few hundred dollars really worth the risks you are taking on this shop? What good will it do you or your family if you might not be able to use it due to death or seriously body injuries?! And you’ll have to answer to your father and Bonnie’s if anything thing should happen! You like those odds?! And isn’t safety the first and most important thing they teach in any shop class? What kind of example are you giving to your kids?! You’re smarter than that Joel. NOW PROVE IT! 🧐😲😳🤨
