    It looks like EX augments will have the same Sta/Spi/Ward subtypes that are seen in other augments, it's just that they've been renamed to "PP," "HP," and "R" designations. Since both "R" type augments have a +5% down resistance in their description, the augment marked "PP" had +10PP, and many of the augments we saw during the transfer have "HP" in their names. There's no indications whether or not any "Gua" or "Deft" equivalent augments exist.
    Thus far, none of the augments seen in the headline have the same name with two kinds of PP/R/HP suffix, but we've also seen eight different augment names (5 in the augment transfer example, + 3 in the introduction) which, times 3 types could mean we have 24 EX augments split across three substat categories. That said, I could also see there being just... 20+ EX augments recycled from weapon potentials the devs rejected over the years for one reason or another.

    EXP just became a more valuable commodity for cash because of additions to the N-EXcube exchange.
    This may further benefit this new content if you can gain levels quick here and rack up excubes.

    In the headline it was told that the augment transfer for EX augments works like you can transfer only all of the EX augments only or both EX augments and the regular augments, the former of which doesn't consume transfer pass.
    But yes, EX augments seem very similar to S-grade augments from base. Only difference being that there's no specific S-grade slot needed for them. However, it was stated in the headline that when you are transferring only the EX augments, all EX augments on the base weapon are replaced by what's on the material weapon. So in other words, you're going to have to keep looking for the material weapon that has all three of the EX augments already on it that are optimal for your class and playstyle.

    EX augments consume regular Augment slots.

      @@Ragingwasabi9000 Look at literally any screenshot from the headline and you can see Eredim are at 3/6 at +60 with 3 EX augments. What other way is there to interpret that?

      There is also an asterisk underneath the ex augment transfer slide stating that regular base augments will remain so they for sure take up augment slots on your gear

    one thought i have is will say the new weapon have to be levelled to 61 first before augment transferring or higher for said 7th slot augment

    There is no limitations on transfer between weapon to weapon or armor to armor: any rarity, any series and any type.

    I am one looking forward to the transfer system and EX augs however. Like you had mentioned we do not know yet. I think it will be a bit backwards like getting 2 out of 3 of the EX augs you want. Then making an augmented one like you would normally. Then say transfer to your wingard. All in all it will be a great addition to everyone I think.

    I'm really looking forward to the EX Augments and Augment Transferring too.
    If I'm not mistaken, there's a "Transfer All Augments" and a "Transfer EX Augments", where the latter requires both items to have the same number of EX Augment slots. So if you want to move EX Augs from an Eredim onto Wingard, I think you'll have to do "Transfer All Augments", which would wipe the existing augments on the Wingard; I don't think you can have 3 EX Augs replace 3 normal Augs while keeping your favourite 4 Augs.
    And I imagine you probably don't have any reliable way to get the 3 ideal EX Augments, and I think that's a good thing. So sometimes you may have to pick between one item that rolled 2 great and a so-so EX augments or one that has 3 pretty good ones, or whatever, and personally I think that's more interesting than just being able to quickly optimize your setup, and this keeps the gear chase relevant in a better way than before. Like currently, I can get a Xover Fatale 2 the day that Xover was introduced, and then the only weapon upgrade has a miniscule drop rate and 99.9+% of weapons aren't worth looking at. Whereas I imagine with Eredim, I'll probably get a subpar one early, but then hopefully be able to find a slightly more ideal one, then a yet even better one (and they don't have to be the same weapon type which improves my odds), etc.. which as a whole is still subject to RNG, but I think it'll feel much less 'feast or famine' compared to before.
    And then I really hope the EX Augments themselves are interesting enough and that not all players want the same ones. And hopefully they'll add more in future patches. All in all, I'm optimistic with these changes hopefully making the game more interesting than "get what's newest/rarest".

      Seems like some of them are "certain class fitting". I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a few top tier EX augs and others usefulness are conditional on what class you're playing.

      The "illusion of choice" it sounds good on paper, but give the community a week to figure out all the EX augments combinations & I can guaranteed you these options will dwindled, "BIS MOST DAMAGE EX AUGMENTS hurr durr" syndrome for your class setup.. obviously some EX augments will be best for certain classes, so I expect to see the best EX augment God rolls on the player market selling 200M+ meseta.
      Now pay real close attention to Slayer EX augments God roll combinations, if these EX augments are indeed sellable in the market, these dudes is about to lose their shit, another layer of E-peepee flex
      So we know "choices" are good on paper but in reality meta rules the typical mind of wanting the best in the end. They said 20 EX augments in total? I'd say 6 - 9 of those EX augments will be BIS/useful for all classes

      @@DatBoiRatchet Yeah, I know that likely will happen, but I can still hope it ends up more interesting than the current system where there are roughly no choices. =p Maybe there'll actually be some risk/reward tuning too where highest DPS on paper might not often be in reality, or playstyle-changing enough that not all players want to play it. And maybe there'll be some things like EHP/Recovery augments that aren't optimal DPS for many classes, but allow Thrusting Javelin hunters to facetank more, so it can be great for some but not for others... We'll see. Maybe there is a good chance I'll be disappointed, but again, I'd like to hope it's an improvement, and maybe with some tuning over time can be cool.

    EX augments introducing quasi drop only afixes is really cool. Something nice to keep farming fresh and motivated to find that god combo you or others want.

    so uh no one is talking about this but could it be a good idea to purposefully fail augments off of gear that is already made to make room for EX augments? that is what I am thinking of doing to make room for ex augments to "pick" which things I want to keep on my gear

      Having only the 3 augs on the material weapon MAY overwrite all items on the base weapon, leaving only the EX augments on it. This isn't yet confirmed, but it's definitely worth checking out videos on EX transfer after release to see if this is possible or not. It might be. EX augments can infinitely replace each other without affecting the other augments, so maybe they treat blank slots the same.

      EX augment transfer is only for when the target weapon has EX augments already. In order to get EX augs on weapons like wingard, you have to perform a normal augment transfer, which will overwrite all augments on the wingard with just what's on the Eredim, like the 3 EX augments. It won't cost a pass if using Eredim as the material. This is our understanding of it as of now, we could still be wrong come wednesday.
      Yes, everyone with giga gran, lux, and anaddi already on their wingard and reyaar did potentially get fucked over by sega.

    I'm cool with capsule prices coming down as a result of augment transfer being a thing so long as we still have a reliable way to make meseta outside of combat zones (because they give me actual brain death).

    In other games the gear is worth it because it is more than just a change in numbers, and the process itself is not running the same things over and over and over again. That is not this game. No, it's not gonna be worth it to me, not gonna meet the standard of entertainment I would get in other games from a gear chase so they are FORCED to have better content than "numbers go up" to say they have anything at all. Think I just need to wait until that whole thing is over before I jump back in. It's gonna be WAY easier to gear up now, and I am still thoroughly exhausted from it. Just waiting for the final tier of weapons. I tried to convince myself this was gonna be enough, but after another dozen hours of gearing again at 500% RDR, I still question what I am truly doing here. You guys enjoy.

      You say "in other games" but i play mmos every day and i cant think of a single one recently thats not just "big number get bigger". Its all power fantasy. The only game I can think of to date at the moment that makes things a bit different is Destiny 2 but even there its mostly just a different flavor of "big number get bigger" and you decide your favorite flavor

      @@KronoKatastrophy Sounds like the origin of the notion then. Destiny is trash, rather play PSO2, but Warframe on the other hand....sounds like you could use some of that in your life. That said, I have put over $1K in to PSO2, the last two years bud, I don't criticize the game lightly, and again the process itself is usually run the same one or two things over and over again, you shouldn't need ANY other game to tell you that is a problem. But hey.....you enjoy.....or maybe go play some Warframe instead for a bit.

    I'll be honest; I could care less about the gearing process, as I care more about class design and rebalancing, and the lore other planets in PSO2:NGS and seeing how they're doing. with everything happening in the story, and I wish we off of Halpha since the game launched because the devs can only reuse Halpha SO many times before players get sick and tired of Halpha...
