There are several ways you can put 100lbs of thrust to the ground and this seems to be the least advantageous...less drag is key, skinny tires, super lightweight chassis and exhaust at ground level; I've built teathered 1/3 scale pulse jet cars that on a 50 meter cord will run in excess of 350kmh, unmanned of course but with a 32mm rear aperture scaling up is a whole different ball game! I myself commend you for your tenacity... Please keep it up!
Raymond Ashby , Was wondering about improving its nasty coefficient of drag.... Just a li'l treatment here and there would put that thrust to better use than overcoming it or meeting an early max. speed.
Ha ha, actually the diesel doesn't smoke at all ( the far kart is on diesel too) the one smoking has the propane injector were the diesel can spry on it, it was an early engine.
I think they were meaning more that we wanted to HEAR the sound of the pulse jet kart :) Music can be fine in small doses but not when you highlighting a specific engine that we all really want to geek out on :)

Probably not going to help...much. The charge vacuum in reed jets runs about half an atmosphere. Evaporative cooling of this charge doesn't have much to work with and would inhibit the vaporization of the fuel. Adding water to the exhaust would increase the mass flow, but you would need a lot of water to add significantly to the air mass.
