Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow tall, such as bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass, they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[7] This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion).Studies have shown that spending time in nature, including touching grass or walking barefoot on it, can lower cortisol levels, the stress hormone, and improve mood.Several ideas have been suggested; one theory is that being outside awakens the connection to nature inside of us, which goes back to our first human ancestors. Patients' moods were lifted when they spent time in nature, which increased calm and reduced feelings of isolation according to another recent study. In terms of how long you need to touch grass to see a benefit, past data suggests that two hours a week spent in nature is optimal. “The evidence shows that nature prescriptions can help to restore and build capacities for better physical and mental health,” lead author Xiaoqi Feng explained in a press release. Step One: Locate an area of grass. The first step in touching grass is to find a place where grass is present. This can be a lawn in your backyard, a park, a sports field, or any other Slocation where grass is growing. Make sure you have access to the area and that it is safe for you to be there. Step Two: Stand or kneel in a comfortable position. Once you have found an area of grass, stand or kneel in a comfortable position. If you are standing, make sure you have good balance and are able to maintain your balance while reaching out to touch the grass. If you are kneeling, place a cushion or towel under your knees for added comfort. Step Three: Extend your arm(s) in front of you, with your hand(s) open and fingers extended. This allows you to easily reach the grass and feel the texture and sensation of the blades. Step Four: Slowly lower your hand(s) towards the grass. Take your time and move slowly to ensure that you don't accidentally step on or damage any of the grass. Step Five: Allow your fingers to come into contact with the blades of grass. You may feel the softness and/or dampness of the grass depending on the environment. You may also feel the different temperatures of the grass if you are in a place with a different climate. Step Six: Gently move your fingers through the blades of grass, feeling the texture and sensation of the grass. Take note of the different feelings and textures you experience. Repeat step 6 as desired, moving your fingers through different sections of the grass to experience the variety of textures and sensations. Step Seven: When you have finished touching the grass, stand or rise back to your original position. Take a moment to appreciate the experience and the sensation of the grass on your fingers. Note: If you are allergic or have any medical condition that may affect you to touch the grass, it is recommended to consult with your physician before attempting this activity. Also, be aware of any rules or regulations regarding touching or being in the area of grass you have chosen. Grasses are often considered valuable for their aesthetic qualities, but there is much more to these plants than meets the eye. All grasses are in the Poaceae family, which is one of the most abundant families of plants on earth.1 From pasture grasses for animal consumption to food crops, such as oat and barley, for human consumption, grasses make up the world's most significant food source. While there are more than 10,000 varieties of plants in the Poaceae family, different types of grasses have some similarities. All grasses produce seeds that are monocotyledonous, which means that each seed produces only one leaf sprout. Additionally, most grasses are herbaceous, so they don't produce woody stems, and they die back to the ground at the end of the growing season.1 Grasses are invaluable assets to our planet and its inhabitants. With a better understanding and appreciation for grasses, you may never look at your lawn the same way again. Here are 10 unusual facts you may not know about the Poaceae family of plants: 1. About 1,400 species of grasses exist in the United States.1 2. Grasses make up about 26% of the plant life on earth.2 3. By weight, turfgrass is 75 to 80% water.3 4. Varieties of grass grow on all continents, even in polar regions. Antarctic hairgrass (Deschampsia Antarctica) is the only member of the Poaceae family native to Antarctica.4 5. A healthy lawn can increase a home's value by up to 20%.36. Grass-covered lawns, prairies and hillsides help prevent erosion by keeping soil in place with their root systems.7 7. Grass lawns improve air quality by producing oxygen and trapping airborne dust particles and other contaminants.6 8. Home landscapes that include grass lawns, trees and shrubs can reduce the air temperature surrounding the home by up to 14°F.8 9. Giant bamboo, which can grow up to 151 feet tall, is the largest variety of grass.510. A 2,500 square foot lawn produces enough oxygen for a family of four.3 Because grasses have a positive impact on climate, clean water and air quality, every homeowner can take part in supporting a healthy environment. While you're probably not growing giant bamboo or Arctic hairgrass, maintaining your lawn is a simple way to improve your air quality while increasing the value of your home. Fact #1 - Grass is used to make alcohol. Fact #2 - A healthy lawn can help to keep your house cool. ... Fact #3 - Bamboo is part of the grass family. ... Fact #4 - Tennis is home to the most expensive grass in the world. ... Fact #5 - The 'stripe' effect. ... Fact #6 - Glastonbury farm grass. Edit:Thx for 15 likes I've never got this many for everyone, like I'll add more! A lawn is an area of soil-covered land planted with grasses and other durable plants such as clover which are maintained at a short height with a lawn mower and used for aesthetic and recreational purposes-it is also commonly referred to as part of a garden.Lawn weedkillers and fertilisers are designed to eliminate any plant that is not a grass and to boost the growth and greenness of the lawn grasses. Stopping using them won’t mean your lawn becomes immediately brown or unsightly, but it will at least give the flowering plants a chance, meaning they can provide nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects. Dandelions, for example, are an excellent early source of pollen for flies, bumblebees and solitary bees, flowering even in the winter months. It's also not a bad idea to reduce unnecessary input of pesticides (which includes weedkillers) and fertiliser in a garden, many of which may have hidden environmental costs either in their use or manufacture.Grass. It’s everywhere. It’s our garden carpet, it lines our paths, it cushions our children’s falls, it covers sports fields, it’s what makes a park a park, it feeds our livestock and yet grass is taken for granted on a daily basis. Grasslands cover a massive ¼ of the earth’s land area with over 9,000 different species carpeting mountain peaks, polar regions, savannahs, jungles and making our planet liveable. Although we do not eat grass, without it, we would lose a massive food source. We can thank grass for the production of rice, corn, oats, sugar, bread, alcohol and so much more. Without grass, many animals would cease to exist.Fortunately for us, grass is highly sustainable and practically impossible to destroy. It doesn’t matter whether grass is cut, eaten, flooded, burnt or scorched; the roots will revitalise the grass time and time again. Despite us not actually eating grass in its basic form, grass is one of our top natural resources and is invaluable to sustaining our love for eating meat, eggs, cheese, yoghurt and milk by providing cattle, sheep, goats, horses, rabbits and poultry with essential nutrients to survive. Furthermore, grass is Mother Nature’s natural remedy against soil erosion caused by heavy rainfall and high winds. Soil erosion has a massive impact on our natural environment.
@@SolangelRomero-zl3fx If anything, we are telling her to stop eating so much. I’ve seen a video of her having an excessive amount of chicken nuggets, chocolate and now boba. Stop trying to normalise unhealthy and deadly habits. Obesity isn’t fine and isn’t a joke, everyone should work to stay fit rather than eat for a living.
Don't eat junk foods 1. Stay healthy and eat healthy everyday 2. Eat vegetable and fruits 3. Don't eat junks food but you can eat rice too 4. Don't be picky eater 5. Don't eat too much junks food or chocolate or sweets 6. Only eat a little bit but eat vegetable and fruits many 7. Only eat healthy not unhealthy 8. Exercise to became strong and healthy 9. Don't waste food if you eat vegetable or fruit eat the whole thing 10. And you became healthy 11. And this is why don't eat junk foods and chocolate and sweets
You know people change for the better but what if this is the unhealthy? And stop just stop just keep it to yourself she obviously knows that so that means she's okay

This family is also called the Gramineae, and includes some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[5] These three families are not very closely related, though all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a similar life-style.
With about 780 genera and about 12,000 species,[3] the Poaceae is the fifth-largest plant family. Only the Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, Fabaceae and Rubiaceae have more species.[6]
The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland.
Additionally, most grasses are herbaceous, so they don't produce woody stems, and they die back to the ground at the end of the growing season.1
Grasses are invaluable assets to our planet and its inhabitants. With a better understanding and appreciation for grasses, you may never look at your lawn the same way again. Here are 10 unusual facts you may not know about the Poaceae family of plants:
1. About 1,400 species of grasses exist in the United States.1
2. Grasses make up about 26% of the plant life on earth.2
3. By weight, turfgrass is 75 to 80% water.3
4. Varieties of grass grow on all continents, even in polar regions. Antarctic hairgrass (Deschampsia Antarctica) is the only member of the Poaceae family native to Antarctica.4
5. A healthy lawn can increase a home's value by up to 20%.36. Grass-covered lawns, prairies and hillsides help prevent erosion by keeping soil in place with their root systems.7
7. Grass lawns improve air quality by producing oxygen and trapping airborne dust particles and other contaminants.6
8. Home landscapes that include grass lawns, trees and shrubs can reduce the air temperature surrounding the home by up to 14°F.8
9. Giant bamboo, which can grow up to 151 feet tall, is the largest variety of grass.510. A 2,500 square foot lawn produces enough oxygen for a family of four.3
Because grasses have a positive impact on climate, clean water and air quality, every homeowner can take part in supporting a healthy environment. While you're probably not growing giant bamboo or Arctic hairgrass, maintaining your lawn is a simple way to improve your air quality while increasing the value of your home.
