Some of my best hunts are with small groups quick hunts in areas you cant have a bunch of hunters. The deer know this and its why they hold up in these areas.
He'd need a whole different set of hounds, you wouldn't want deer dogs going after raccoons, or coon dogs running deer. Some dogs hunt everything, if you weren't targeting a species then that's not bad.
I don't use dogs to hunt because that's cheating the easy way out..people deer dog hunters don't tell you the real truth about deer being hunted with dogs..when deer are run by dogs the meat is tougher,it doesn't matter weather you soak it out or not..now i can tell you its a bigger difference in the meat not being run by dogs..it is tender meat..a calm deer equals tenderer meat..
