  • Compressing 20 weeks of training into 5.5 after breaking his leg on July 2, Ashton proved to the world (and a very negative, naysaying orthopedic doctor) that he has the grit and determination to overcome a major obstacle. His body would not be endurance race-ready, but we both believed his mind would be.
    Whistler Blackcomb Resort
    Base Elevation: 2,214 ft
Vertical Gain per hike: 3,900 ft
    Miles per hike: 3.9
    Average Grade: 19.6%
of hikes to reach Everest: 8
Total Miles to Reach Everest: 31.2
Total Elevation Gain after 8: 30,400 ft
This kid dug deep, pushed through weather, major upset stomach, exhaustion, pain and with 45 minutes to spare of the 36-hours allotted, he earned himself the coveted @29029everesting red hat AND was the youngest of our group to do it! The best part is, this earned each of us a core memory that we will retain and reflect on for the rest of our lives!
Congratulations Ashton! God prepared your body, and you prepared your mind…Thank you for walking this journey with me, I love you so much son!❤️
(Thank you to @vidaintegratedhealth and @kaseylynnblack for believing he could and helping him get there.)
