  • After picking this preamp up this past week, I decided to open it up and take a look inside to see if it needed any servicing or repairs. Overall, it only needed a light amount of work. The typical issues were found, including bad solder joints and dirty potentiometers and switches.
I appreciate all of the feedback on my last couple of repair and restoration videos. I will continue to film more videos like these, as people seem to really enjoy them. I try to read and reply to most comments on my videos, but it takes a while because of my busy work schedule. Thanks!

I really like this preamp. It would probably work really well with the kenwood monoblocks. I'll keep an eye out for it. Nice work cleaning it all up.

I love your work and have watched all your vids. Those Kenwood power units were great restoration vids and they sound fantastic with whatever you have driven them with. Cheers!

Always liked that preamp and the amp that went with it. A lot of people said they sound very neutral and warm

Hey Connor! 👋🏻 This is the first chance I’ve had to sit and watch this video in peace. Another top job bro. Yamaha has some really decent kit. Especially from A decade or 5 ago. I know a lot of the modern stuff still has the pure direct switch. And they carried on with the vintage look even their as1100 up to the 3000 range is built like tanks and sounds fantastic with the right components & speakers In fact if my memory serves me correctly there is A YTuber called stereo police who has the as1100 amp and he loves it. I believe he said he would take it over much more higher priced items. All I know for certain is the Japanese know A thing or two about real HIFI. Anyway hope your well? Keep up the good work. Greetings from across the pond. 🇬🇧

I am really impressed with how well you get the faceplates cleaned up - can you share some of those techniques?
