Today we're taking a crack at giving all the original Kanto Gym Leaders a BRAND NEW second type specialty and brand new Pokemon teams to go along with the new typing.

I feel like Galarian Weezing would also fit Erika's team specially because it has the "neutralizing gas" ability. On top of that, it is said to help purify the air in it's dex entry.

Definitely like the typings, but would choose different mons maybe.
Brock is giving me Marowak and Sandslash energy. Or a Swampert since he had Mudkip in the anime!
And Misty definitely should have a Togetic or Togekiss.
Falinks for Surge and Mismagius for Sabrina are definitely good though 👍🏻
Interesting list, but it's so hard giving gen 1 gym leaders anything other than gen 1 or even 2 pokemon
Misty as the new fairy type gym leader, yes makes sense. But missed opportunity not giving her Togetic. Lol.
This is a cool and interesting idea.
Im guessing you got Lorelei as water, bruno as rock (only one other rock type e4 member so this would be fairly unique), agatha as dark, and lance as flying.

Giovanni should get a Normal-type mega stone pokemon like Kangaskhan! 👍
Giovanni could pull off the Rock type as well, considering that he does use Rhydon and Onix in RBY, and there are a lot of intmidating options that fit him.
Gigalith, Cradily, Aerodactyl, Rampardos, Rhyperior and Tyranitar would make for a one hell of a final leader. This team also fits because there are a lot of rare Pokemon here: 3 Fossils, a trade evolution and a Pseudo Legendary.

Koga's team feels off. I'd go with Venomoth, Ariados, Accelgor, Ninjask and or Sheninja. 2 pokemon has has already had and 2-3 ninja bugs.
honestly valid. I had a horrible case of allergies that day, and was NOT on my A game. So Koga does feel off even for me.
Slaking with Giovanni, really need to run.
Ok so, my thoughts are diffrent;
Brock: Water (Lotad, Mudkip)
Misty: Bug (Surskit, Butterfree)
Lt. Surge: Steel (Magnaton, Varoom, Ferroseed)
Erika: Ghost (Gourgeist, Misdreavus, Froslass)
Koga: Fairy (Galarian Weezing, Klefki, Grimmsnarl, Spritzee)
Sabrina: Dark (Absol, Weawile, Meowscrada, Purrloin)
Blaine: Ground (Rydon, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Alolan Marowak)
Giovanni: Normal (Persian, Noctowl, Slaking ,Kangaskhan, Porygon-Z)

Most of kogas new team is 4x weak to a single type 😭😭😭 scizor=fire volcarona=rock heracross=flying
I feel like surge could’ve been fire type because strong electric attacks could do as much as fire attacks…
You might as well add new Pokemon for the Gym leaders with new pokemon types.
Imagine the disappointment of naming your kid Bugsy, Gardenia, Skyla, Elesa, any of that and they don't use the obvious type correlation.

Bug type for Koga? He'd be better off with Dark or Fighting types, referencing his ninja style

Before watching the video I'm guessing on kanto being like this
Brock: ground due to geodude and onix being part ground, also fitting for brocks evolved steelix
Misty would be ice, as there are plenty of water ice combo pokemon in gen 1
Surge being fighting, being an army guy, he's strong, so having strong fighting types fit his esthetic
Erika would be poison with gen 1 having alot of grass poison combos
Yoga I'd say insects, venomoth is his most reused pokemon, so having bug would make sense
Sabrina, I'd go with ghost, it's the only type to defeat psychic, so she'd go up to a stronger typing
Blaine is tough, but I'd pick rock, hes got a lab on cinnabar, so he'd use it to revive fossil pokemon
And giovanni would be poison as all of team rockets go to pokemon are poison types
Respectively their aces would be in order: onix/steelix, dewgong, hitmonchan, muk, venomoth, gengar, aerodactyl and nidoking
Sorry, I'm stupid, I put in 2 poison types for Erika and giovanni, so for giovanni I'd give him psychic, mainly because psychic was the literal strongest type in gen 1, he also used mewtwo for a short time in the anime, also having psychic types makes him strongest out of all team rocket since he's the boss, his ace would be alakazam, not picking mewtwo because legendary
Also I'll put in the gen 2 pokemon for post game johto

Blue tyranitar, I know blue doesn't have a main type, but I think giving him a pseudo legend suits him, and I guess if I had to give him a type, it'd be dark
Here's a prediction for gen 2 leaders switched types
Faulkner would be normal as his flying types also have normal typing, but his ace would be furret
Bugsy is tough, but I'd give him flying, plenty of insects fly, and his ace would be yanma, yanmega in the remakes
Whitney I'd give fairy, I wouldn't want to give her a type outside gen 2, but her teams cute and so is fairy, her ace would be togetic/togekiss in the remakes
Morty is also tough, but I'd give him dragon, he's very interested in the legendary pokemon of johto, dragons are considered legendary in a sense, and his ace would be kingdra
Chuck I'd give steel, dude pumps alot of iron, if you get me, and his ace would be skarmory
Jasmine would be electric her ace is ampharos obviously
Pryce I'd give him water as ice and water are pretty close together, his ace would be octillery
Finally Claire, I'd make her typing be fire, dragons breathe fire, and her ace would be houndoom
pretty good job all around!
Misty as Fairy type, yes, but she'd totally have Togetic. Mawile seems a good fit

What would their new gyms look like? A swimming pool isn't a very fitting location for a fairy type Gym leader

Slaking is too weak for the final Gym. This Pokémon may have good stats, but the poor typing and abysmal ability it has just makes it way weaker than you can think at first glance.
Yeah but giovanni would give it an itsm to hold that nullifies the ability making it OP
@@Xatumi You would just need the move Thief or Switcheroo, combined with Protect and a good speed stat, and you already won.
Giovanni as a Normal-type… really?
The team may be fairly experienced for the 8th Gym Leader but in NO WAY Normal-type has been appropriate and climactic to be in the final Gym. I feel like it would have been better if it was Brock’s main type instead, and let Giovanni be a Steel-type Gym Leader, because since it has many resistances, it’s more climactic as the main type of a final Gym.
