Dodge Dealership Selling Over 100 Classic American Cars

- Heard a rumor that Crown Dodge in Ventura, California was out of new inventory, so they bought up a bunch of show-worthy classic cars to sell instead. It was surreal to show up to a car dealership in 2022 and see the lot looking like THIS.

Any 69 Chevelle
One of the Impalas or Chevy pick ups. Liv you're so cute
Any of the 2 door 57 hardtop or the 57 nomad
I'd take the c2 ,,what a beautiful vette
In a few years you'll get thumbs up for your Pontiac, made/restored with your own hands! Focus on that idea and forget that expensive vette ;) thx for the visite!
Nice cars..I have personally owned 37 Chev pu, 50 coupe, 51 coupe, 54 coupe, 55 coupe, 57 coupe, 58 four door, 60 impala low rider, 61 SS impala, 65 station wagon, new 65 4 dr, 66 impala 4 dr, 69 impala low rider, 75 impala, and a ton of 51to 54 pu and 5 1965 pus. Still got a 77 C10 pu..and more. Been messing with old cars since I was 12 years old.
Be extremely careful with these places, especially if it's a car that looks like it has had a recent restoration. People buy from classic car lots and find all sorts of crazy shit, like rust covered in Bondo, VIN tags welded on from entirely different vehicles, rotted frames covered in paper or tape and painted over, damaged coupes made to look like "convertibles," and on and on. These lots seem very idyllic, but it takes a lot of money to make an old car look like new, and dealerships do all they can to maximize their profit margins.
Agree however Crown is LAGIT ! Hopefully they had somebody screening the cars as far as quality, Authenticity etc... HOPEFULLY !!
Not to mention classic car dealerships are way overpriced. In many cases even 30 to 50% higher than you can find similar from a private seller. About 6 months ago I sold a 66 Le Mans ragtop, frame off resto with a 463 cid to a dealership. It was flawless, with all original steel and interior. It was appraised at $24,000 by both Hagerty and a Meccum and I sold it for $22,000 to the dealership. Three weeks later the dealership had it for sale for $68,000, and did nothing to it but wash and wax. It's still sitting in their lot.
@@tonyg3573 I bet, even with relatively niche antique stuff you can't get away from all the parasites in the car industry. Unfortunately with cars the lower your moral standards the more money you stand to make.
She literally works on cars
@@aa-gz6kw I work on cars too and I've seen scams that would fool me. There are people that have bought structurally unsafe vehicles because they couldn't recognize the specific differences between a mustang convertible and a mustang coupe cut down to look like a convertible.
Love it! Back in the day we all geeked out on these cars too! Theyre just that cool! Thanks for filming your visit!
Where do I find girl who knows as much and gets this excited about classic cars ?
RIGHT ON !
That place is flippin amazing, and the amount of old cars on hand is just crazy.
I can't believe that every car that you touched was open for you to inspect and enjoy what it felt like to just go back in time and see for yourself what car shopping for a dream car is like. Not one salesperson approached you about touching or getting into the cars at all. What a fun, exciting evening that you guys had, right?
I tell you what, if I lived within 100 miles of that dealership, I would be driving to there right now, geez leweez!
WOW! Thanks so much for the tour!😃
Because it’s all set up. It’s called Entertainment 🤔😱😂

Look at Maple Motors in Tennessee if you haven't heard about them, they're amazing also.

Super cool. Thanks for the virtual tour and Hell Yeah Brother!!
Love the enthusiasm for these gorgeous old cars!!!❤
That was a blast from the past.
Believe it or not. Once upon a time there were used car lots all over the place that had much of the same inventory. Granted, they were used cars, not show quality like in the video. However, a lot were well keep up nice cars. You could find almost any car from the 50's, 60's and 70's by just going around to the lots. Most places did not have as many as Crown has. But the bigger ones did have a lot of cars to pick from. They often would direct you to one of their competitors, if they knew that place had the car you were looking for. No internet or cell phones. Every trip was an adventure. Anyone recall Rand McNally?
Here in Kingman Arizona we have several used car lots. Not too many classics though.
Yeah here in Asheville NC there is a road called Coxe Ave. And in the 70,s you could find just about what you wanted. They were used but took care of. Maybe, just maybe not run to death. We called it Dream Ave. When we were in high school. Robertson Brothers was the place to go first because they had the best most of the times. Those were the best days for a young hot rodder like myself.
@@jacklioyd8571 Cool. I'm down the hill from you in Taylorsville, NC. Hickory, Lenoir and Wilkesboro were where the bigger lots were in the area. Such good times back then.
Every one of those cars styles vettes imps chevelles. Tri fives i sat in new or drove in 70s local chevy dealer had new car intros and unc brought us kidsto. Show for hot dogs. Fall 62 as kid remember 63 vette convertiblle. Was a spaceship to sit in as new. Good mems

‘58 Chevy my Favorite of the Chevys. Getting hard to find a nice one for a good price
This guy has some nice ones but the prices will give you a heart attack.
I love how shocked they are that the cars are unlocked. That's how life was for a long time. Even in the 1990s. We used to tour used car lots for fun. We'd test drive all sorts of vehicles just for fun.
They’re probably unlocked because most thugs these days that would attempt to car jack these don’t know how to drive stick 😂
Honestly I don't know what I liked better! All the cool old school rides, or the really cute girl with the heart & soul of a motorhead geeking out over them all!! Thanks so much for tip to my next car and all the positive vibes to go with it!
Just an update to my post: I looked at a lot of YT and cable today... and nothing I saw today topped this video in just pure joy value! You guys were like a couple of kids in a candy store... and we all got to come along for the ride! Yee haw! Thanks again for making my day today! May all your car dreams come true!
The adorable cutie pie reminds me of a Spanish Gypsy woman. I'll bet she has a Spanish last name too. Her cute small "parrot nose" says she's of Spanish origin. Can't hide it. Nice to see her as a young motorhead. Her dad must be a mechanic or she comes from a line of mechanics.

I can't believe my first car was a 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88, I am rolling back in time watching you all. I can see America when these cars were one the road and gas only 25-30 cents a gallon
It is hard for me to imagine gas prices at 25 cents.
I was paying 29 cents per gallon until October of 1973 in Maryland. That is when the first oil embargo hit the USA, and there was a gas shortage.
@@franknew9001 Absolutely correct. Damn Arab oil embargo(1973) is what ruined it all for everyone and the classic muscle car era came to a close. There ain't nothin like the cars of the 1950's and 60's. Best automobile era ever. "Rolling Gems" Frank. Rolling GEMS. It's when the BIg 3 had the most pride in their cars and trucks. 😄👍👍
@ Tom C-- When the first oil embargo was over around March of 1974, the price for a gallon of gas about doubled from 29 cents to about 60 cents in Maryland. I don't think we paid a $1 per gallon until the 1980's.
In my first year of high school in 1970, I got a part time job at a grocery store called Safeway, and was making about $2.25 an hour. I felt lucky to make this much, as most of my friends working at fast food places or pumping gas at a service station were making about a $1 an hour less than me.
When I was a kid in the late 1950's and early 1960's, I can remember paying a nickel for a full size candy bar.
I LOVE this video, and your enthusiasm. What a great idea for a dealership to keep 'em coming in!
That is the most tri 5's I have ever seen in one place. The Camaros and Mustangs and the GTO's. Then you have all of the late 60's muscle cars from all makers. What a collection.
Didn't see a 65 Impala ss or a 68 to 70 AMX though that 61 Chrysler 300 G looked like a hell of a car lots of great ones in there though!.
Great video ! Always been a car enthusiast. Thanks for the video .
Fun stuff. I've had a few of those cars "back in the day". Thanks for posting.
So happy I still have my 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix, second owner I am,have it since 1987.It will stay in our family forever now.Never been not on the road, garage kept, sleeps all winter, cruising rest of the year. Rock On !!!
For me, like a flashback back to the used car lots during the first oil crisis in 1973...yep, there loads of big-block muscle cars (GM, Ford & Mopars) & Corvettes, and dirt cheap back then. Now, not so cheap anywhere. Needless to say, wish I'd hung onto a few of them. Enjoyed the video; thanks!

Holy crap so sick!!! I painted a 57 wagon last year. Thank for sharing more cool stuff!!!
I have owned almost all car types during my 67 years. When I was in my teens I didn't even mess with car lots. Down in S. Fla. there were cars on lawns and corners, store parking lots, just everywhere. They almost all had the keys in them. I bought a 1962 Lincoln Continental for $50.00. Interior was perfect and it ran and shifted the same. Paint was a little faded but buffed out. 57 Pontiac, 65 Corvair, 68 Sport Satellite, 1960 Dodge Senaca Dart w/ wide block 318, 63 T-Bird, swivel seats, tilt and telescopic and side to side steering wheel. That car had a console all the way from up on the dash to the rear package deck, with auto. shifter on the console. Corvair truck with a side ramp and tail gate. 65 sky blue ford like new. The guy asked me to start it up. I replied, it is running! He put his ear on the hood. Had a 56 2 door chevy for 42 years. 55 chevy pick up like new I built an engine for. (with a little cam lope) 1951 Chevy P.U. Put a ford rear and a 283 in. 1966 factory motor home with a 327 auto like new also (chevy) 1959 2 dr. Pontiac, Maroon all like brand new. The carpet even had the sparkles it was so new like. Another 62 Lincoln, this one white with red leather int. They both had the 430 C.I. engines. Drove that one across the country more than once. When I sold her she was still just as I had bought it. 1959 Buick with the wings. The starter switch was under the gas pedal. In Ala. we bought 1951 chevy fast backs or fleetlines, and only once did we have to pay more than $5.00 for a running car. We bought one for $15.00. They would not come off that price for anything. Of course, I was too young to get a DL at that time. But there were no cops out in the country. Every now and again we would get bold and drive our cars to town. 8 miles or so. Wow, got so wound up looking at the cars I began to relive my child car hood. Thanks for the video, brought back some really good memories! Thumbs up of course! Today I own a 1949 Chevy 2 dr. w/ a 350/350 auto. Three tone paint. Of course, I am getting too old to work on them anymore, some health issues didn't help. Might be selling the 49 pretty soon. OH! and yes, she runs like a scalded cat! I buy the good tires with the white lettering so, I don't go burning them off. But you know, you have to know so I did it once. Didn't even push halfway on the pedal and she started spinning. No brake holding. Brand new Holley too. Later car guys!!! I had more cars but, fingers and eyes haqve limits, gotta go. Later.
did you have a 1965 Malibu SS 4speed 283 4barrel
Imagine having a 40,000$ car and some random ppl go and sit in it and act like it was even for sell in the first place and have them say that’s to much $$$ 😂😂😂😂 as he starts it in gear ⚙️ and talks about the shit box mustangs like there isn’t a 73 vette with a 454 and an low rider with a 409 👌🤣🤣🤣 stupid ass sees a 351 in a 67 mustang mock1 and thinks it’s the best thing ever there’s a bitching 70 c10 with a ls1 and still the 283 C1 was better
Very cool story! Too bad you can't even buy a used car/truck for that cheap anymore, but of course $1,500 $2,000 $3,000 in today's money is considered not bad for something that's used, but not abused nowadays. Inflation does wonders too lol
And on a title if you only put down like $85 on a title today, the dmv would question the hell outta you and look at you like some kind of damn car thief. SMH It's like why does it matter? Technically if I actually did buy a used vehicle off a close friend and he only wanted 80 or so dollars, it's technically not stealing since I payed something for it. Lol
Lay off the pain pills Leo

WHAT A WALK THRU ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
A year ago, that Vette would have cost about $80k. Now they want $140k, plus tax. Still a good long term investment, but if you buy it with a recession likely, you will be underwater for a while. Best to wait until prices drop unless you can wait several years for appreciation, and these cars are too nice to drive in traffic. These are for investors, not your average enthusiast. Fun to look!
Actually the c prices may escalate as the market collapses. Would you rather have your money in a car like this or in a stock that's falling?
we grew up with malibu's my mom held on to the one that all the kids learned to drive on...cousins, etc. She sold it in 2008...it was kept up, lots of it was original stuff...I think it brought whatever work it had done plus the original sticker price over the years. Still ran great as it didn't have many bells or whistles...
I just could not believe my eyes. All those gorgeous classic vehicles in nearly mint condition at a So. CAL dealership. I nearly p00pd when I saw that 1969 Road runner with the 426 HEMI under the hood. RARE. The '70 Charger R/T SE was so killer. SEXY car.
Folks, you just saw millions of bucks worth of classic cars all at just one dealership. The 1965 Corvette alone was priced at 140 grand! All this tells us: the baby boomers have had their 'fun" with these cars they remembered when they were kids and teens. Now its time for the Gen X ers, Millenials and later on Gen Z ers to enjoy these classics. Hopefully, the prices will soften and come down to realistic prices putting them within reach of the new generation. Gorgeous classics.

I'm not sure if they bought it. I think they got them on consignment.
@@TomTom-qm4mq All of them unlocked means they are fully insured by the actual owners. A dealer couldn't afford full coverage on $10m unlocked inventory.

@@1940limited yeah, except for the crazy six figure cars. I mean what on earth is going on with those impalas?!? $300-350k? I mean, you could buy a house for that! Or, at least you could 5 years ago.
@@UmmYeahOk I cannot believe he price of collectibles what with all the talk of the economy tanking. Plus some cars aren't as popular as they used to be yet prices don't come down.
@@1940limited it’s a dealership, so unless they are there under some sort of consignment, the dealer bought them all to resell, and they aren’t going to do that if there is no profit in it. In other words, dealership markup. But these are used cars. You could have any of these significantly cheaper if you are buying from a private seller. This has always been the case, as dealers attempt to sell trade ins or auction cars.
So why buy from crown? Well, they will most likely accept your trade in, and offer some sort of financing. This is something private sellers can’t do. Also, classic car enthusiasts already know where and how to get these things, but your average Joe, who never even considered owning a classic car, shows up wanting a new car, only there are no new cars. They have preowned, no warranty, “as is” cars. They seem to check all the boxes, minus heated seats and navigation, and you were only going to keep it 3-5 years anyway. Why not? I feel that’s why there are so many boring white and black vehicles on the road. Your average buyer can’t think for themselves. They don’t know what they want. But then they see these on the lot. Blown away by the variety of choices.
They aren’t going to buy the $350k impala. But they were going to finance a $40k vehicle. They didn’t know such vehicles were in their price range or even existed.
Thanks for the Video....Your not old enough to know this, but back in the late 60's early 70's all the "Used Car Lots" looked exactly like that....Every dealer had a ton of those cars for sale....lol....By the middle to late 70's with the price of "Gas" going through the roof...It started all over again....anything that required 100+ octane was for sale cheap....Wish I had had the money....lol.....

Ahh but you're mistaken, the "televised...and untelivised auctions say otherwise and owning a "stable" of classics and collectibles has its financial purpose as I don't think the buyers of most of these type vehicles just have "too much money" accidentally. just sayin.

The 72 GTO more resembles the one in Two Lane Blacktop vs Dazed.
Wow, what an amazing dealer. Prices are high, but that vette is a rare car. I want that Hemi roadrunner
Outstanding!
That’s is soooo cool.
I’m sure those are all priced as new condition restored cars that they are.
Aka not cheap.
But I’ve always said I’d rather finance a classic for 50k + over a explorer or something boring.
People throw 100k at trucks now.
So it makes sense to me.
I wouldn't spend 100 grand on any of today's cars unless it had a porta-potty for the driver with a fine minty mist. LOL! You will lose 10 grand as soon as the wheels hit the streets. Stupid investment.
I'm thinking you didn't watch the whole vid to the end. $140,000 is what he looked up on the website.
Dreaming is all I can do. I'm not paying "interest" to anyone ever again.
@@DanSmith-cb5vj I’m 100% with you.
I’ve only ever paid cash for used cars.
Never very much.
I’ve had a LOT of cars. A few cool ones before they were expensive.
But I wouldn’t throw myself into debt over a car either.
I did watch to the end.
That was for a fuelie, C2.
They are big bucks no mater how you slice it.
I was making a more general reference to classic cars being up at new car prices.
If I was personally going to spend $50k+ on a car (which I’m not) I’d go for a classic, over a new plastic car every time.
A Tesla model 3 is in the $50-$60k price range. Great car. I’d take a $50k Chevelle all day.
50k for a new mustang? or a 50k for a classic mustang? Easy choice.
There’s no doubt new cars are faster, handle better, etc, but not nearly as raw or cool.
🤙✌️
The fact that this young lady appreciates a classic car it awesome.
I thinking the same thing.
She’s a keeper
@@georgemyers6518 Yeah talk about hard to find!!!.
Wow. Thats really cool to see all them old vehicles in one spot. The 58 impala is baddass.
This is just incredible. WOW.
Just like the economy classic cars are way over priced right now
So many cool classic cars on the lot, it's extremely hard to chose which one.
COOL is an Understatement Great Find Dan
Crazy how many nice cars are there. Oh and Muscle Mechanix needs to put out more content! I miss his videos and the slayer camaro.
She’s a keeper
