My real question is if each gym has six permanent slots once the first is killed off or defeated enough where it leaves from lack of motivation, if an attacking team is continuing to try and defeat the entire gym what is to stop the current team holding the gym from returning or happening to be there already and simply dropping in another pokemon since you no longer need to prestige up gyms to add slots? Will the gym simply fall once the attacking team defeats all the original six or is it similar to the old system where there is a set amount of gym experience where defeating each takes a piece out of that until it hits zero?? Hope that makes sense, thanks

Lets give it up for those 3 who made it to lvl 40 you could tell they were so happy and felt so accomplished. Its literally the biggest accomplishment in life rn im lvl 39 and 4 mil xp away from lvl 40 Im so excited.
Something to think about and maybe mention, why rare candy, what's the need for them? I have an idea...... LEGENDARY POKEMON. How else are you meant to level them up if you can only catch 1 or if they are so rare. They would be pretty useless at level 1. Love to hear your thoughts.
Problem with the update - So with coins returning to you once your gym is defeated, if say you live in an area where all gyms are mystic for example and are rarely taken down by other teams, u effectively could have a pokemon stuck in the gym for a long period of time and never gain coins for it until someone eventually battles? I see some gyms that have stayed identical months
I also have gyms around where I live that stayed the same for weeks, if not for months. But this update will probably change that. First, only 6 Pokemons to defend, and no doubles, so no more gyms with 10pokemons defending it, with all of them being Blisseys or Dragonite. The fact that there will be only 6defenders will make gyms much more doable. Also, defenders will lose CP as they lose motivation, so a gym with only 3000+CP defenders today could be down to 2500CP tomorrow. And from what I understood (could be wrong) they will not only lose motivation when defeated, but also should also lose motivation on their own with time, so some defenders can get kicked out on there own If not fed berries. All of this will make it way easier to beat a gym and you won't have to just give up the moment u see a gym lvl 10 with 3000cp Blisseys ever again. Finally, from what I understood, when a raid starts on a gym, the gym is cleared in favor of the raid Pokemon. So worst case scenario is even despite all of this a gym can't be defeated, it will still reset eventually when a raid starts.
**NEW FEATURE IDEA** : Add voiceover narration that reads the pokemon's info/description in your pokedex like Ash's pokedex did in the show. That robotic voice is such a huge and iconic part of the original show, yet it's missing from pokemon go. I'm assuming it would probably pretty easy to add since the pokemon company probably owns the recordings from the show, so it's pretty likely they can just add in the voice narration like Ash had in his pokedex. Pokemon go's whole concept is to be immersive and authentic, so adding this would be really huge in achieving that. WHY IT SHOULD BE ADDED: 1) Small additional feature that's easy to add and people would love since it adds a lot to the immersive/realistic aspect of pokemon go, which is the whole point of the app 2) Doesn't require months to add like major features (ie the gym rework, which was needed but took a while to implement) 3) Niantic adds major new features on a quarterly basis, which included stuff like the gym rework & adding Gen 2 pokemon. That means that there's long periods of time in between quarterly updates where nothing new really gets added, except for minor text features. This feature would give us something new, so we're not constantly let down when every new update is just the beloved "minor text fixes." A lot of people stuck with pokemon go when nothing new was being added, but people got bored of nothing new being added and the game did lose users. Smaller features like this vocal narration for the pokedex are a way of consistently adding new stuff. 4) why not include it? Everyone would like it, the pokedex talking to Ash & giving him info on the pokemon is such a huge part & iconic of the show. Pokemon go is supposed to be a realistic, real world game. So why not give people a realistic pokedex? Do you agree this sounds like a good idea for a new feature/addition? Like this comment so Nick can see it! Then maybe he could suggest it in a video and we could see it added since Niantic definitely watches his videos
I feel like everytime I get the hang of throwing greats and excellents, they change the throwing distances, so I have to start getting used to it again... maybe we got too accurate with our throws, so they changed to prevent us from getting too much xp?!? ... Alright this is what I think they should do, I think Niantic should up the cp depending on how many people join the raid. Say if there are 20 people the cp is set at 25k cp and if there were 30-40 people the cp would go up an extra 10k cp? That would make it fair, and I will totally love to see 30+ people around me taking down a raid boss. I see you Niantic.. making moves out here ! :)))
boma i believe he mentioned the raid limit would be 20, or idk maybe I heard that wrong. Either way, i kinda feel that the CP boost for raid mons is kinda insufficient, coz typically with a type advamtage its pretty non-difficult to beat a gym pokemon thats almost double your own mon's CP, The challenge in the gyms, I would say, has only been bulding a team for the whole gym roster but if its only one then the type advantage is all you need, really. Also, if I remember correctly, one of the screenshots showed that you can have up to 6 of your mons in a raid so that adds even more to the extreme ease of beating raids. If they're gonna keep the CP system that they have now then maybe it'd be neat if they had like set multipliers beforehand to showcase the raid mons' strength factor, then as the raid is being readied the CPs of all the pokemon going into the fight would be added up, then x1.15 (as opposed to x1.25 so as to counter the type advantage but still keep it kinda relevant), and then multiplied by that strength factor which could go from 1 to whatever the number is that makes the after-CP multiplier equal to 1.25, so the strongest raid mons (5 stars or whatever) would have type advantage canceled out unless they have double weaknesses. idk, just my take on it

Nick!! Why would someone from the same team want to feed someone else's pokemon their berries? Do they have any motive besides seeing their color in the sky? ... I mean, its not like you get any coins for it and if anything, the quicker the gym gets overturned, the quicker you can battle and reclaim it to add your own pokemon anyways. I personally don't think I would want to invest MY own berries for someone else to be able to gather more coins, ESPECIALLY spoofers. Let me know what you think!!

Hey Nick, Fairview Park in Costa Mesa is a huge Team Instinct holding ground with 6 gyms inside. You could definitely hold some gyms over there. It's a great place to fly drones too.
Don't feel bad because you're not level 40 yet, Nick. Your video editing is quality, and we've enjoyed sharing your daily life with you. If you were just grinding we wouldn't get to hear the seals and walk along the coast vicariously.

Nick!! Why would someone from the same team want to feed someone else's pokemon their berries? Do they have any motive besides seeing their color in the sky? ...
I mean, its not like you get any coins for it and if anything, the quicker the gym gets overturned, the quicker you can battle and reclaim it to add your own pokemon anyways. I personally don't think I would want to invest MY own berries for someone else to be able to gather more coins, ESPECIALLY spoofers.

kawabj say you're already in the gym. the max level blissey of your teamate in said gym is low on motivation, therefore not as much as a challenge to attacking players. feed blissey berries, kore defensibility

We were in Balboa yesterday! We go there quite a bit for PoGo. Also the Garafarig nest is at the Balboa Golf course, not the main park.

So glad you went to Balboa Park. My favorite place in the world man. I lived in San Diego for a while and the spawns there are absolutely crazy. Although the other week it was a Pidgey nest and no one needed that.

How awesome must that day have been for that trio of Trainers. You hit level 40 with your buddies and mother fucking TRNR TIPS and REVERSAL are there to share and document the event. Fucking awesome!
you will also notice that the physical aspect of gym battling remains the same spam tapping sliding to dodge and long tap for charged move

Fairview Park in Costa Mesa is a huge Team Instinct holding ground with 6 gyms inside. You could definitely hold some gyms over there. It's a great place to fly drones too.
