Social worker here. You did thing by saying no. Never let any stranger touch your kids, even if it’s just a “funny handshake”, whatever that means. He knew what he was doing approaching you when he thought you were alone, just mom and kids. Glad you’re all okay!
I would say the handshake was 100% malicious. If he were to take him later on he could say “hey, come with me but it’s ok because you know me, we have a special handshake don’t we” etc
You did the right thing by saying no. Its not normal for a random person to come up and offer a hand shake and then hang around after. The fact that he backed off when your hubby arrived showed the nature of his actions.
Predators rely on people who don’t want to make a scene. He profiled you and knew you’d be polite. He ran when your husband came because he didn’t have a chance to profile him and your husband was a wild card he hadn’t accounted for. I know it would have shaken me, so I hope you are ok.
I've been to the UK for a school trip before. It was for chorus, so on top of sightseeing, we also got to perform as a chorus group for formal and informal events. It was a really nice experience.
You are in my country, I am so so happy! I am about a hour away from London ❤ Please enjoy yourselves and have the BEST TIME! If you can whilst in London definitely try the London dungeons, it is great for learning British history but may be too spooky for the little ones! Enjoy and wrap up warm! 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’m a single mom and I have always told my kids and I , if your uncomfortable with someone man or woman I say no thank you in a loud voice also make known you do t know them and then hold hands and walk away that way no one is left alone and everyone is connected as a family
Seeing you guys in cold weather clothes is so weird haha, the sausage and bean melts are my favourite from GREGGS! Also if you're in England on a sunday you should find a carvery restaurant to get a roast dinner!
You absolutely did the right thing by saying no and essentially ignoring him after that the only thing I might have done differently was walk away from him rather than stay where he was
We live 20 miles from London and I have never been on my own with the kids because of stranger danger. If u r going to Scotland u must go to Edinburgh zoo it is amazing. We love Scotland
Crumbs and Doilies for cupcakes! Also, your feelings were dead on... NEVER compromise those feelings for being "nice". They are YOUR children. You have the right to protect them however you see fit. If people think you are being rude, it does not matter. YOUR FAMILY FIRST.
As a person who lives in the UK, I find it strange that Americans have never heard of sausage rolls! They are not just sold in GREGGS but anywhere, my nana makes them at Christmas and you can get them from local supermarkets and bakeries. I hope you enjoyed your sausage roll. (Just to add, a bap is just another word for a bread roll that is like that / a tea cake)
lots of areas in the uk have local traditional foods. i’m from scotland, it has lots of traditional foods. haggis is the go to for brave tourist (worth it very yummy) and black pudding, but potato scones and cloutie dumpling are great for the kids to try. scotland is also the only country in the world whose number one fizzy drink isn’t coke it’s Irn Bru and the glass bottles that say 1901 are the traditional recipe. there’s also tablet which is a traditional sweet it’s made with condensed milk and sugar and is best enjoyed if you don’t have sensitive teeth. you will find mostly british dishes in a local pub most food serving pubs are family friendly.
So interesting able to be there at the time of history. I remember hearing about the queen die in my college class. You able to experience England and Scotland is awesome. London is known to have boarding schools. Enjoy that your children get experience other parts of the world.
The original Lyle's golden syrup is still made today in Plaistow east London, it's made using a by-product of the sugar refining process, it's great in Porridge and smothered on freshly baked baguettes 😋
I was in London England for a month years ago. I loved it and to this day I miss it. Enjoy everything. It is truly a wonderful and magical time. Happy Autumn 🎃🍁🍂🎃🍂🍁🎃
You absolutely did the right thing saying no, that was not OK of that guy, creeeeepy! As a sovereign nation New Zealand viewed every aspect of the Queen's passing, build up to, parading of the coffin, memorials, vigils, and funeral, from the moment we heard. Also the King' s tour. The funeral though it was at 530 there was at around 11pm here so I ended up watching all day, and until 130am the next day! Phew. I'm so glad I did though to honor the Queen, and celebrate her 70 years on the throne. RIP QE2, love live King Charles III. How sad Kenzie did get to see all of the V&A museum. Will you go back?
I live on the south coast of England and it’s only 45 mins away on the train. But I always appreciate a trip up and enjoy roaming the historical side streets and museums.
My early trips to UK were back when everyone had the same entertainment. British Airways would show classic British commedies like Mr. Bean and Black Adder the last hour or so of the trip to get everyone ready to be British. It was lots of fun!
I went to Europe in 1984 with the Sound Of America Honor Band and Chorus. London, England was a our last stop. I have to say that after visiting 5 countries prior where English is not the main language, it was so comforting to be able to read signs the signs and speak to others outside our group.
I recommend for the kids to go shopping in beckon, as there is a big toy shop called smyths and there’s clothes shops, we also have a shop called pound shop/pound land which is like 5 below for you guys I think, sorry if I’m wrong ❤️hope you enjoyed it❤️❤️
I had been to London once in 2018 and it was the best! London is probably my Favourite place. When I was there the place I was staying at was across the road from Paddington station and there was a store there full of Paddington bear stuff!
A bap is the shape of the roll the sausage was in... round and flat.. we use them for many things from Burgers, salad, ham, cheese etc. In stead of sandwiches.
Glad to hear you said no to the “funny handshake” there’s no reason a stranger in a airport needs to touch someone else’s child and the fact he left in a hurry when he saw your husband is definitely suspect🙄 stay safe and aware of your surroundings!
I definitely would've stepped in between that interaction, no matter where I am nobody better even think about walking up to my youngest child and speaking to them! Nope...my husband is in the military so a lot of times it's just my kids and I. I constantly remind them that any person could try to kidnap them, especially if they're not right next to me and where I can see them. Also don't ever talk to strangers or go off with them for any reason!
I think it’s a bit much to say don’t talk to a stranger. Majority of people aren’t any danger what so every. They are just happy people looking for a chat. But no way would I want a stranger touching me or kids or giving them a hand shake. I talk to people on the bus or in town. Iv helped many people find things in shops (including kids, as I work in retail) all the time. Would never dream of touching anyone though. Kids shouldn’t be afraid of talking to people. But I agree should never touch someone or go off with them & definitely not take anything without a parents permission. Iv given a kid a lolly pop from a freshly opened bag of candy before on the bus with parents permission for instance as I was talking to the mum on the bus. But I asked the mum first I wouldn’t never just hand something over to a kid unless it was their own possession they had dropped.
I live in London, and I have been to the City Centre many times, that experience you had, has never happened to me before, I’m so glad everyone is alright, hopefully I see you, also Glasgow City Centre is a must-visit and Manchester but warning Manchester has really bad traffic, specifically the area my sister lives in, check out Edinburgh, it’s amazing!
Some tasty British meals to try are- 1. toad in the whole (sausages in Yorkshire pudding) you can find it in some pubs or in the meal or frozen section of the supermarket, 2. The Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings, 3. A full English breakfast, 4. Afternoon tea (finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream + jam & mini cakes), 5. A fish and chip shop, 6. A British Chinese take away/restaurant/buffet, 7. An Indian restaurant or take away (try the chicken tikka masala it’s not spicy).
While in Scotland you may want to try a bridie, or a sausage roll or meat pie (if you like a crust that is a little more dense, go with the meat pie & if you prefer something a little more flakey, try the bridie (the sausage rolls are pretty good too, just not my personal favorite). If you are anywhere near Whitby, while you're in England (North Yorkshire, I believe) that's a great place for really great fish meals, because it's a seaside town (supposed to have some of the best fish & chips). Most people do go to Edinburgh while visiting Scotland, so if you're looking for other places to visit, Sterling has a castle that you might like to visit, or try a city like Ayr, where Robert Burns hailed (& where he is buried); there's an area in & around that cemetery that is supposed to be where you can find Brigadoon. Inverness & Isle of Skye are other nice (& beautiful) places to visit. If you want to get a feeling for a city that's not so modern, try someplace like Stonehouse (though it's been a long time since I've been there, so I would check that out, first, to see if it still has that quaint, old style village atmosphere - definitely not your normal tourist location).
Always trust your gut. Def never will let a stranger touch a kid u never know what their "story" is. You did the right thing. I hope to see the world some day I love that you are vlogging it so I can add London to my list. Glad you are all safe.
I live in London and just a few tips The local supermarket is called Sainsbury's and it's really cheap There are some restaurants that are good but I'm not to sure if they're all local If your air b and b is close to a train station you should take the Northerm,Picadilly,Victoria, metripolitan, to King's cross and King's Cross has all of the lines Do not go to Waitrose and Partners because it is expensive and you have a lot of people in your family For sightseeing I recommend the Shard and the London eye
If you are going to Edinburgh research about greyfriars Bobby! Really famous dog. There’s even a Disney movie about him. Make sure to watch the original with the Skye terrier (the breed he was) and not the remake where they used a westie
I was one of the police officers policing the queen's funeral, it was a very long set of days leading up to the day itself, that week I worked 90 hours (a "normal" working week in the UK is a 40 hour week), every day was a minimum of 14 hour shifts and one day was 18.5 hours from shift start to finish. As exhausting as it was, it was a pleasure to police it and to pay respect to queen Elizabeth.
As for the stranger danger poblem, the answer to your question, is punch him in the face and RUN!!, jk just walk away to somewhere with secrurity or many people.
I've been to London three times in my life. I was last in London in May 2022. London is a nice city. One day I'll go there again, it's a 45-minute flight for me. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Someone over there has been listening to me. You actually found a ham & cheese sandwich! Try some of the unique combos too. My faves are salmon with sweet corn and turkey with sage mayonnaise.
I grew up in London Kentucky. When my family moved to Tennessee, my siblings and I would say that we're from London. Everyone thought we are from England.
Next time you go to greggs, try the pizza's and the yum yums (a lot like a donut, but it is long and you can get them in packs of two - they are seriously good!) 😁
Im sorry you came here at such a sad time for my country but I hope you have a wonderful time here! England has some beautiful places to go and see. I just got back from London myself a few days ago.
welcome to England .I recommend you go to home and bargains and try some iconic British snacks! Also visit some parcs you’ll see a squirrel or too in the there just make sure to check the forecast that it’s not raining. Also watch the great British bake off it’s on at 7pm and an iconic to show it’s also very funny with the occasional floor cake also I’m sorry about your strange interaction not the best first interaction but just remember the protocols 999 the emergency number police and stuff are always open A&E is completely free just walk in and you’ll get seen .111 if you need emergency advice .Fire drills are usually once the alarm is soundered you walk out to the carpark/garden . (Should you need to do this but just incase) ALso the meal deals aren’t considered cheap for us especially the fruit pots. Also highly recommend the Egg and cress sandwich very popular here and my favourite when I go.And malted bread is wholemeal bread with seeds in it.
My parents met and went to school in London: We went there for New Year & Eve, We went to Buckingham Westminster Abby and of course the eye of London. The UK is my favorite place in the world. I really rate London.
So glad you tried meal deals and Greggs, both British traditions! A bap is just a British word for a bread roll, it doesn't have to be a breakfast item. E.g., If you put chips (fries) in it, it's a chip bap! If you go to northern England, it's often called a butty (bacon butty, chip butty, etc) and there are other regional variations. For trying other meals while in the UK, I recommend looking for a family-friendly pub or a carvery, and eating some pub food! You get some really good typical home cooked meals like Sunday roasts there.
King of England is a good friend and I love the idea of the Ancient history and then we will have to wait a few weeks for the rest of us to get back into the UK and have
My mom and i both was in London on a return trip to the usa just before covid-19 hit we stoped in London to see the harry potter sightseeing places plus the harry potter and the cursed child play.
So glad you're enjoying your time in the UK 🇬🇧 When you're in Scotland you have to try a Fried Mars Bar! You can normally get one in a Fish & Chip shop - it sounds wierd to have a deep fried chocolate and caramel bar but you'd be surprised just how many people like them, just don't ask how many calories are in one 🙈
I have been to London twice a year, every year of my life as my grandmother lives there. I am currently posting from Orlando, Florida. I love both Disney and Universal.
If you are going to scotland haggis, neeps and tatties with irn bru is a must and I recommend going to nandos which is a chicken chain that very popular in the uk
I've never even been outside the country. But looks like you guys enjoyed it! The plane you were on seems similar to the one I was on for Hawaii but the food was free. If I were you I'd probably just say leave and don't ask my kids this stuff. Thats just me😉
I was just in London in August during the heat wave. We then spent time in the country as well. We went to Greg’s as well. You should try Nandos and for sure get some fish and chips.
I've been to London several times. Always a good trip, though it can be expensive. A Sunday roast lunch at a pub is always fun and tasty. Get away from the tourist spots and be a temporary local. And I love the British take on pre-made sandwiches. There's so much variety! But I dare you to find ham & cheese. There's ham. There's cheese, but never in the same sandwich! Right now I'd get out of London and head north. Much of the fun stuff in Scotland is self interpretive. You can wander around stone circles, viking graves and ruined castles. In Scotland if you're in Inverness on Sunday I can recommend MacGregor's for Sunday roast. Bruce, the owner, is also a musician and radio host. Sundays in the pub young musicians come from all over the area and have a traditional music jam session with Bruce. Other days have other musical experiences and they serve food as well as a nice selection of craft ales and spirits. Due to Covid19 the outdoor area got a nice makeover too. If you can't go there Bruce is on BBC Radio Scotland on Thursday evenings. You get a nice feel for what's going on with traditional music in Scotland and how vibrant the culture is. Have fun!
Man seeing the british musuem and the London eye brought back some fond memories. I have family that lives in England so have been a few times. My fav thing there was the Manchester Zoo and the aquariums (we dont have any wwhere I live)
I actually live in the uk! We have so much cold weather :) it’s so sad how queen has died and yep it’s usually very busy in local London 👇 if u agree or live in the uk!
I live in Salisbury, UK about 1 hour and 20 minutes from London on a train. The last time was December 2021. Bap - bread roll. A hot Cornish pasty - a must, scones with clotted cream and jam/jelly. Don’t forget the helicopters may have been security like police with all the royals, visiting international leaders and guests.
I just got back to London from a 2 week holiday in Orlando and flew with Virgin Atlantic too, my flight was also freezing cold so found it hard to sleep, I had to use two of the blankets! I completely passed out when I got in, I bet your kids were exhausted! Would 100% suggest getting fish and chips but maybe not In central London, I live in zone 3 and you can get a good portion for a decent price but if you're close to Westminster there's a lot of expensive tourist traps so maybe wait until you're in Scotland! can't go wrong with a Greggs or a meal deal, that's is most UK peoples daily lunch haha, if you're kids are okay with spicy food would definitely recommend trying Nandos, or going for a curry at an indian restaurant (indian have more non spicy foods too) as the Indian culture & food play a huge part of the UK cuisine xx
There are plenty of Police wandering around Heathrow - if that happens again tell them !! They will be VERY interested. Remember UK Police are nothing like the US cops - they are MUCH better trained - especially the armed officers that patrol Heathrow.
What a shame you only saw London while in England. We are so much more than London! A bap is a bread roll just like the one you had. It can be eaten any time of the day. It can have hot or cold fillings. Have fish and chips at the seaside. Have pies wherever possible - steak and ale, or chicken, leek and ham are very popular. Have a roast dinner in a country pub on a Sunday. Pubs are great for food for all the family. Don’t use chain restaurants or pubs though. If you’re coming to Britain, you definitely need to have an Indian curry, especially if you’re in the midlands. If you’re going to Scotland, don’t be afraid to try haggis - it’s delicious, especially with a whisky and black pepper sauce. Cullen skink is my favourite Scottish food though. It’s a thick smoked fish soup, a bit like a chowder. Our desserts are legendary. Pudding means either dessert or a steamed sponge here, not what you call pudding in USA. Sticky toffee pudding, golden syrup sponge, bread pudding, custard tarts, Eton mess, lemon meringue pie, apple/ rhubarb/ gooseberry/ summer berry crumbles, bakewell pudding… the list goes on.
To me it sounds like a human trafficking situation. Its REALLY good he didn't touch Griff at all, who knows what exactly was up his sleeve. He knew you guys were foreigners and would be disoriented and not know your surroundings though, vs someone who lives there and is coming home.
Bap is another way of saying bread roll. Different areas of the UK call them different things (and they think there are about 20 different words). Where I live they are called cobs
Fact about the ‘meal deals’ is that they are different depending on which store you go in like Asda has buy 3 get the cheapest free and tesco does the same as sainsburys but at £3 and visit farnborough, Hampshire as it’s not long from London and it’s a great place
I'm from England, yeah that's not normal behaviour and a typical British mom would pretty much be a lot less kinder in telling the man to back off! Unfortunately you do get chancers especially during such a busy time attempting to prey on the "vulnerable". You did the right thing not acknowledging the man as did your kids
Social worker here. You did thing by saying no. Never let any stranger touch your kids, even if it’s just a “funny handshake”, whatever that means. He knew what he was doing approaching you when he thought you were alone, just mom and kids. Glad you’re all okay!

I’d do exactly what Jennifer did too!
And report them

👍 up for trusting your gut, a Mama always knows when something isn't right! 💜🌵
I've been to the UK for a school trip before. It was for chorus, so on top of sightseeing, we also got to perform as a chorus group for formal and informal events. It was a really nice experience.

So excited for the Fudge Family's London trip. Please share all the excitement of the trip with us :)
Despite living in the UK I love watching people visit here, have a lovely time!🤩
Me too!
Yes I love seeing other people’s views on our country!
Same cuz I live in the uk too
I have never been to London! But I hope to go someday! I love that you were able to pay respects to The Queen from a distance!
You absolutely did the right thing by saying no and essentially ignoring him after that the only thing I might have done differently was walk away from him rather than stay where he was
I live about 30 minutes from London. I did the queue for the Queen.....14 hours I was in it, but was worth it to pay respects.
Welcome to England. You will definitely have to try a chippy (fish and chip shop ) and a Wetherspoons pub hope you’re all having an amazing time
Nice memorial for her majesty and the all loved Queen Elizabeth the 2nd! P.S I love you vids. They brighten my day soo much, your kids are soo cute!

You guys are so close to 1M!! Omg y'all are my idols ty for the heart
I love London. I go once a year. From where i am in Canada its a 9 hour direct flight. I have family there. There is so much to see and do.
Also.. Pig in Blankets are chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon in the U.K.! You should try them! Looks like you had a wonderful time here

I live in London and just a few tips
The local supermarket is called Sainsbury's and it's really cheap

Next time you go to greggs, try the pizza's and the yum yums (a lot like a donut, but it is long and you can get them in packs of two - they are seriously good!) 😁
Yep the yum Yuma’s are delicious. Definitely recommend them to anyone.
Don’t gte me started on yum yum oh my days they r soooooo good
Go to Pizza Hut you get salad pizza or pasta a side and make your own ice cream desert all in the kids meal
Funfact! Almost all of the items in the British museum are stolen from other countries /neg
i’m from london! i hope you’re enjoying it here!!
I would have reported that creepy guy to Airport Security..
Also watch the great British bake off it’s on at 7pm and an iconic to show it’s also very funny with the occasional floor cake
also I’m sorry about your strange interaction not the best first interaction but just remember the protocols 999 the emergency number police and stuff are always open A&E is completely free just walk in and you’ll get seen .111 if you need emergency advice .Fire drills are usually once the alarm is soundered you walk out to the carpark/garden . (Should you need to do this but just incase)
ALso the meal deals aren’t considered cheap for us especially the fruit pots. Also highly recommend the Egg and cress sandwich very popular here and my favourite when I go.And malted bread is wholemeal bread with seeds in it.
Being a women is terrifying. That man would have never approached Griffen if your husband had been with them. I’m glad you guys are safe.
You get some really good typical home cooked meals like Sunday roasts there.
this is very weird watching americans in the uk being unfamiliar with things that british people know so well :O
Almost there to 1 million subscribes only yesterday you guys were at 997k now your at 999k amazing process keep it on 😃😃😃
So weird seeing you in my country! I love that Americans all want to try greggs! Hope you had a good trip!
Lunches in London I have been waiting for that.
King of England is a good friend and I love the idea of the Ancient history and then we will have to wait a few weeks for the rest of us to get back into the UK and have
My mom and i both was in London on a return trip to the usa just before covid-19 hit we stoped in London to see the harry potter sightseeing places plus the harry potter and the cursed child play.
traditional meal : fish and chips from a fish and chip shop.
traditional meal : roast dinner (yorkshire pudding, meat, vegetables, gravy) in a pub.
I was in London for the Queens Diamond Jubilee! It was fantastic!
I have been to London twice a year, every year of my life as my grandmother lives there. I am currently posting from Orlando, Florida. I love both Disney and Universal.
I wouldn't have packed too many snacks for the kids, we have food in the UK and it's sometimes good not to eat a lot of processed food.
If you are going to scotland haggis, neeps and tatties with irn bru is a must and I recommend going to nandos which is a chicken chain that very popular in the uk
Looks like so much fun! My in laws are moving to the UK early next year so we'll be visiting for the first time next summer. Congrats on 1M subbies!
I've never even been outside the country. But looks like you guys enjoyed it! The plane you were on seems similar to the one I was on for Hawaii but the food was free. If I were you I'd probably just say leave and don't ask my kids this stuff. Thats just me😉
Congrats on 1 mil you guys🎉❤️
Hope you all are having fun 😀😀
Top tip for jet lag. Keep moving until it's local bed time. Try to eat at local meal times. You'll be over your jet lag by the end of day 2
i live in Cambridge which is next door to London so ive been there a lot! Especially since my family relatives live there!
As I’m from Bristol the most English u can get recommend Frankeysandbennys as a restaurant
They are in East Kilbride and Glasgow
I actually live in the uk! We have so much cold weather :) it’s so sad how queen has died and yep it’s usually very busy in local London
👇 if u agree or live in the uk!
Food to try while in the uk, fish and chips, kebabs, Indian food and Chinese take away. Scotch eggs and a carvery meal. Have a wonderful time xx
Don’t forget the roast dinner! lol
Remember UK Police are nothing like the US cops - they are MUCH better trained - especially the armed officers that patrol Heathrow.
a million subscribers!!!! congrats
You're welcome here again anytime 😊😉🤗👍🏾💯
If you're in London you have to take the girls to tea time. They have plenty of little shops around that will offer it.
Omg 1k left and u will have a million subscribers, you should also make a 1 million subscriber lunch
Only about 660 left now! SO CRAZY!!!
So excited to see y'alls trip.
Stats show stranger danger is 2 per cent..usually is someone related to you and knows you very well ..just a weird encounter
London is my second favorite world city 🇬🇧
To me it sounds like a human trafficking situation. Its REALLY good he didn't touch Griff at all, who knows what exactly was up his sleeve. He knew you guys were foreigners and would be disoriented and not know your surroundings though, vs someone who lives there and is coming home.
Who else saw the born pink blackpink concert world tour sign
welcome to the Uk, I hope you and your family enjoy your stay here in London the weather changes everyday.
YAY YOUR GUYS ARE IN LONDON I LIVE IN LONDON
You guys were 20 mins away from me OMGGGGG
I love getting food at Greggs, I really enjoy their Pizzas and their Steak Bakes (It's just bits of beef with gravy, no veggies)
Have to try bangers and mash, fish and chips from the chip shop
Definitely have to go to Harry Ramsdens
