Despite all the houses and lack of access these days, Mica Peak really is a gorgeous backdrop. Good job on the improvement, Jeff. Really loving hearing you acknowledge when a bad shot is bad and WHY you think it happened. That’s key to improvement and I know Dan has worked on that over the years I’ve known him! Keep it up, fellas. Hope to see you out there soon!
Long time follower. Newish 3D tournament archer. Long time whitetail bow hunter. Started with an index for years. Switched to a button to help with target panic. It made it worse! Started shooting back tension early this year and loved it. But after trying the onnex hinge in the shop the other day i fell in love. We’re all in this archery journey together fellas. Embrace the float and never stop pulling 🎯🎯 #ABT
Love the shooting stuff. Jeff- try a lot of different locations the knob is in. Somewhere there’s a sweet spot where it all comes together best. Might try having the barrel sitting deeper into the thumb where your thumb tip just touches the release frame. Kinda a closed loop hold. This way the thumb has a more repeatable location on the barrel. At least it works for me.
That Evolution Ibex was so impressive at Western Hunt Expo. Dale sold me on it talking about it. Then I felt it and used it on that shot trainer and had to have it. Made in the USA too which is awesome.
Great video. Did this yesterday(at 60 not 80!) trying to dial in a new sight tape. Wore myself out. Not satisfied so going back out this morning till I get it right. Loved Dan saying take your time and get it right.
I was thinking the same thing about the label paper for sight tapes. We shot the course last Wednesday when it was raining and by the end I didn’t have a sight tape left. I have tape over the whole thing now but label paper does seem like it would work well.
Just found you guys and enjoy the content so far. Specific to this video I heard y’all talking about the evolution release. Great for flat ground and figuring out how to pull through a surprise release. Much much less forgiving when you throw angles into the equation. Good luck.
Just watched the 1st Baseline video you did 3 weeks ago. Great job improving. You got me questioning my HHA Optimizer, I want some long range consistency for TAC. Im shooting a bunch of arrows and feel like Ive hit a wall. Gotta change something up to keep growing.
Not sure if you've done a video on it but is that paracord you're running for a wrist sling or is it something else? interested how to because I can't get mine (Bowtech OE) loose enough to not interfere
Try printing out on sticker paper. Just cut it out and stick it to one of the metal sight tapes that comes with the cbe. Use acetone or alcohol on the metal tape before sticking the sticker paper to it so it sticks better. Kinda already waterproof
Outside of having your own branded @Elkshape AAE stabilizers, why do you not run the mathews bridgelock stabilizers? You did when you first got the Phase 4 I believe.
I dig this content format, with one caveat - in editing, it'd be a better experience for viewers if you lower the primary video's (the one you're commenting on) volume much more when you are adding commentary. There were spots where it was a little frustrating, like I just walked into a shouting match and couldn't parse out the dialogue. Otherwise, freaking awesome and keep it coming!
If MFJJ won’t let you change up the course, take a tennis ball, walk up to the target and throw it back down the lane, where the ball ends is the shot. If the range is empty, you could throw the ball to change the angle as well as the yardage.
Man I need to drive over one weekend and shoot that course with you guys that we be dope. Why do you guys shoot with exo limb legs on your bow just curious
These long range shots are totally unnecessary for elk except for the way many people hunt elk...I believe most elk hunters would find mastering close range hunting more fun and more fulfilling once they master it and when they really see it can be done effectively and consistently. Elk are really the perfect game animal for close range hunting. It just amazes me the vast majority of elk hunters apparently believe otherwise and/or haven't mastered close range hunting.
Just like guys with 7mm rifles won't often be killing big elk at exciting close range consistently, neither will many guys lobbing arrows at 90 yds. It's a different mindset...and a different level of excitement.
I’m new to archery and last weekend went to my first indoor 3-D shoot. I kept hearing people talk about mulligans. I don’t have a clue what that means. Would anybody be polite enough to explain to me what a Mulligan is without being rude or disrespectful? Thank you in advance.

Practice…no mulligans…be harder on yourself! Do I hear a rattle when Jeff shoots?
Hot tip I got from Jesse Broadwater print your tapes on vinyl sticker paper using a laser jet printer. You end up with sticky waterproof sight tapes
Love watching the long range arrow flight

When you get on steep ground in awkward position during 3d Is when you will have trouble pulling through an executing

I appreciatie your honest reviews and videos. great to see personal growth and the learning process. thank you
Is the centre scoring ring 11 and not a 12? IBO scoring is 11, 10, 8 and 5.
Congrats on the 100k. Love the videos. Keep them coming.

Jeff, freakin smoking that foam! Love the videos guys ❤
Helluva group at 80. Something to strive for.
Great content Dan you were made for elkshape very informative and entertaining great job God bless ttyl
Loving this series!
Love the content keep up the good work

Where did those sight tapes come from. Like the large numbers..
Our local bow shop has techno hunt. My son and are shooting a 10 week winter league. That is really fun to shoot!
I've been thinking of getting a hinge release, never shot one. What would yall recommend? Enjoy the videos! Keep it up . Mike
Jack should try to shoot hinge release combined with trigger, will be way easier to beat target panic.
Try printing the tapes rite in the rain paper. You need the right kind of printer but it is worth a try.
Great content! Do u still do videos with Josh & Tim? I see they also have a podcast. I enjoy the content, keep it up guys 👍🏻

Great shooting all round.
Jeff just seems like something was loose while you were shooting as your bow more of a buzz sound then Dan's.

CI - Continuous Improvement! Good job Jeff!
That's the goal!
Rite in the rain paper for your sight tapes. They offer printer paper, print and go. No messing with trying to waterproof paper
Do you check the scale valuables from printer to printer? On doing sight tapes?
Yes we do!
How much does a 019 pin cover a target vs a .010 pin at 50 yards and how much does it change with your pin being farther from
Your riser (4”-5”-6”-7”)
Good job Jeff
Dan, what helical is your vanes and are you using .10 pins? I have a new bow coming in and want to shoot a lot longer distances.
The helical is probably like 5º and the yes on the pin size .10

Which hinge were you talking about at the end of this video?
Jeff has a perfect radio voice. I'd listen to him talk all day
haha... agreed!
Jeff should shoot a blank target at 5 yards to practice his surprise shot. That really helped me
He's definitely doing that now... more to come!
Man I need to drive over one weekend and shoot that course with you guys that we be dope. Why do you guys shoot with exo limb legs on your bow just curious
Anyone know what brand that brown jacket is?
Seems like something is definitely rattling on Jeff’s bow. Awesome content for sure
Ya it's his quiver - he's got a few screws loose if you know what I mean! -DS
Love these videos, good shootin!
Much appreciated!
I like this format
🙏🏼
Jeff's back tension looks much better with the heavier trigger
Agreed!
When you show the score you should put the yardage by the target number
Is Jeff wearing a Melanzana hoodie? The blue hoddie
Jimmy Lutz just beat his old record of 60 up with a 66 up. 66!
Jeff go to a hinge ASAP, you WILL NOT REGRET it!!
My dogs will sit in front of my target so I can’t shoot , they think it’s funny until I put them in the house.
Hey guys you need to lower volume on your studio mics it was to loud 😊
If you shoot a mulligan or second arrow you take the worst score from either arrow
booom baby !
Something is loose on Jeff's bow...you can hear it on every shot.

Do it without a rangefinder.
I don't think you should do Mulligans. You very rarely get a mulligan on a live animal

Yep. His one piece quiver had a loose hardware. Easy fix.
I don’t think I’d ever shoot even 60 yrds
Do yaw against mfjj and Tim
Is it me or are Jeff’s arrows flying dumb?
Absolutely NO mulligans! You get none in the field
one thousand percent!
Hell no doing the mulligans. You don't get a do over on the elk of your life.
No mulligans
100%
You don’t get a mulligan on real animals
