ACES vs KINGS vs QUEENS [Shocking End]

  • Guys, it finally happened. After making fun of people on the internet for FOLDING pocket kings, I found myself in the darkest of places. That terrible place where you have to consider making the ultimate laydown. Maybe it's karma. Maybe I tempted fate. Perhaps I deserve to be punished for my hubris. OR MAYBE... sometimes you can just look Andrew Neeme in the eye and know he's got the aces.

    I think Johnnie Vibes getting a little out of line with 10,7hh might have saved you a little bit here. He added one more bet to the mix that really just put Neeme's 6-bet over the top.

    Serious question for Dougie Fresh….
    I’m always on board with playing a good balanced theoretical game.
    Do we think a cold 5 bet happens enough that we need to mix in non AA/KK raises/jams?
    Obviously the easy answer is “we should always look for balance.”
    But do we find ourselves in this narrow node of the game tree where we need to mix in an A5s to make sure we get paid?
    Sure, you were able to fold KK, but does the population fold KK enough to necessitate having a bluffing range?

    This reminds me of the recent hand on HCL with Mariano having AA and two opponents that had KK. Both had like $250k stacks. Sitting in a raise, re-raise, re-raise, all-in position you would have to consider folding the KK. You are almost guaranteed to be up against Aces in that situation nobody is risking $250k with AK in to 2 other players that have both shown strength. You know at very best you're chopping with KK and at worst you're behind against Aces which is what happened. Then again sitting there with the second best pre-flop hand in Poker I'd have a hard time folding KK too.

    • @janpiet9921
      @janpiet9921 Год назад

      Definitely very opponent dependent too. There are definitely players that will shove AK for value there, and then also players that would take that spot to bluff A5s every chance they get. Andrew is neither of those types so this one should be a fold...

    • @brandonc422
      @brandonc422 Год назад +2

      @@janpiet9921 I don't think in a situation like the HCL one where it's $250k shoved after 3-4 raises that KK is a call. Nobody is going to risk $250k with AK in to 2 players. It's basically AA or KK at that point and even KK has to feel the heat. A lot of people wouldn't even do it with KK in to 2 players. Maybe someone with more money than brains like Nik Airball or Alan Keating you consider going for it with KK but aside from those very very specific situations KK isn't a good call for $250k all-in in a 5-bet pre-flop 3 way hand.

    A5s is a good bluffing candidate because it blocks AA and has decent equity against a range of KK+. There are spots where it is good to jam AA and A5s, but fold KK and AKs.

    Let's be honest, when a super nit 6 bets pre, KK is an easy fold.

    Glad you said that….. jam the aces pre flop in that situation no question

    Your analysis of the 5bet size ignored the fact that if he went bigger and got shoved on by the short stack, he wouldn’t be able to raise if you flatted the shove in between. Taking away that option is a big deal.

    Doug would you have called in Andrew shoved all in instead of making it to 23k?

    Make a video about not folding kings and then immediately fold kings correctly like a boss. Well played.

    I didn't think you could ever fold pocket kings before this video and the other one where Doug talked about spots where it can be folded

      The stacks being so super deep is a requirement for this being correct. If you never play this deep, never fold kings.

    I’m worried about you. Maybe we should call in the ask for why team to help you with your punting. You’re supposed to go broke there!! How dare you deny Andrew what he deserves!! 🤣😂💸💸
