So many commenters who don’t know why or what they were watching 🤦🏻♂️ The type of people who can’t see the forest for the trees. I appreciate the advice!! I have been pruning a very large live oak that has never been pruned. It’s at least 35 years old, 50’ y’all and 60’ wide. I’m taking off the lower 15-20’ of branches as they impact mine and my back neighbor’s houses. I just bought the home and the enter lot is like this. I was trying to determine the proper spot to make my final cut (I left 12” of each branch to be safe). Now I know where to make my cut, thank you!
Would be nice if the camera man actually paid attention and pointed the camera to the area youre describing the entire time instead of keeping the camera on you.
These "ehow" videos are made by the person talking and then sent in to this company. They pay you to create a video and then they make all the money from the views. That's why 87% of them have terrible information... it's from people who know little about the subject matter / video making / editing, but want extra income (probably not much though).
Shouldn't you trim the oak trees in January - March? One might as well skip first 4:30 minutes as it's talk only since camera doesn't show what he is explaining and talking about.
You don’t know how many houses I’ve been to where the homeowner just cut the branches back and leave long dead branches and branches that turn dead on the tree
Wow. So many negative comments. Yeah, the camera work should be improved, but haven’t you ever looked at a tree? Look at the tree you’re cutting. You can see what he’s talking about just fine there.

Thanks. Really great video. I really like the three step approach.

I know Im quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch newly released series online ?
Dude. Relax. …..listen. It’s not that difficult
Probably just wants you to pay Davey to do it lol
What is your opinion on the tree wound spray?
Is it necessary to coat the the open face of the cut with a sealer?
Oak wilt? There are certain times of the year or you shouldn’t be pruning oak trees. Check with your state DNR for safe pruning months.
can't see what you're talking about.

Spring is a bad time to prune oak trees, as it's peak season for the transmission of oak wilt disease. Late summer/fall pruning is best.
@@JeffroDH Actually...late fall through winter is best to avoid transmission of oak tree wilt...late november to march 1st here in the northeast

Better than wounding the trunk.
Great video! Thank you!
No we can't notice the bark because the camera is focused on you and not the bark.
Brian Wideman are you blind??
Appreciate the video, thanks for the information.

3cut method always!!
5 minutes and 30 seconds for something that should have taken 5.3 seconds....
But for 80 percent of this video.. let's talk about safety for awhile...
Good video
Now where did I put my old hard hat, plus all my several changes of protective clothing?!
LOL...Lego man with a saw.
Too bad we can't see any of those areas you are pointing to as you explain this because we have no idea where you are pointing. smh
Get to the point about pruning the trees!
That Karen of tree pruning.
Well... that was boring
Only came here to see how terrible yet another eHow video was. I was not disappointed.
That’s not a perfect cut sorry to say that the cut is not even both sides for the tree they going to take much longer to recovery the injury
Dude spent the whole video yapping
