river glass is actually beautiful. I am blessed to have river flow behind my house, it is magical, The glass I have found has been polished and beautiful, similar to the glass I have found in the beach
Hi Lisa, yes it is super addictive- there is lots of glass in Florida- you just have to ask around to find the right beach- I am sure there is some in San Juan- although I have not personally hunted there- I live on the other side of the island- Rincon- where there is tons! Thanks for your comments.
@oceangirlcollection oh i just make things with it like 3d postcards and oceanic themes and my dad makes jewlery i do not have as much as i should i have not been able to get out to the beach in a while
At the beach where my husband and I vacation on St. Thomas, the best pieces are always in about two feet of water just about where the waves break. This year I put on my snorkel gear and let the waves swat me as i collected about 3 dozen nice bits.
Hi, I live in Florida and just started and I am hooked, though only found like 4 pieces of the golden brown and green. Have you ever or heard of anyone finding any near San Juan, PR?
I live in Rincon Puerto Rico- Red sea glass and big- Lucky! Yes it is rare here also- as most of them tend to be very hard to spot- and not many things are made in red glass anymore- so most that are coming out of the sea nicely polished and rounded are old! Thanks for your comment-
There sir Vix- It would be nice to live near the ocean- without having to own the oceanfront- the beach should always be freely accessible to everyone- it's that way still in Rincon Puerto Rico where I live. Also I think others may most likely benefit from your broken bottles- as the they tend to move away with the tide. Remember sea glass came about because recycling was not in effect 20 - 60 years ago- and therefore was really man made litter on the environment- thanks for your comments.
where is it where you are looking for sea glass??? Today in R.I in the US i just found big piece of red sea glass. It's really rare here is it rare there?
+Ryan Mattock Unfortunately, this particular beach has changed so much it.s been ten years since i made this video, today there is almost always NO GLASS HERE :(, but i have found other spots..i think another video is due soon :)
+Kirsten Miller ..funny you should say.... before i knew about the popularity and had any real interest in sea galss, i collected some in maine.. purple, and grey especially!
hi Random- yes sometimes I have do that too- battle the waves and all- but it's fun-its easier if you go at low tide- and you will have more luck after certain storms when the water and waves stir things up a bit- by the way-where do you live?
@theangrywaffle1 where in the world do you live,? are you close to the ocean? This beach is my back yard. Tres Palmas, have you ever visited? It's in Rincon P.R.
