They went to check it out and came back to talk to her about it. She didn't actually need to allow them inside. She should have just continued whatever conversation she may have needed to have with them on the porch, but i'm not sure that she knew that.

The full video shows the other cop gets cloth and holds the area to stop the bleeding until the ambulance arrives but that other cop that shot her didn't even want him to get the kit in the car. He said it was of no use bec she was shot in the face. The other cop eventually went anyway.
When other cops arrived and was asking the cop that shot her was he ok he said yeah and called the victim a crazy b*$&

That's right. She took the pot from the stove to the sink and you can hear her pouring the water out. I think people are confused because she had on a red oven mitt and the pot was also red, so when she ducked down, you see the red oven mitt which people mistook for the pot.

I was living outside Fort Worth when Atatiana Jeffers was gunned down in her home. When will this stop!? I shouldn’t be fearful to call the police when I need help.
She did NOT have the pot in her hand. when she lift her hands up she only had the oven mittens in her hands! I watched the whole video several times close up and you can CLEARLY see the pot wasn't in her hand when she crouched!

I saw the entire bodycam footage. One of the first things Massey said to the Sheriff's is," Don't hurt me." This was after she opened the door for the Sheriff's. She also informed the Sheriff that she was on medication. There is no excuse for the Sheriff's. She deserves to be alive right now.

So terribly sad. My heart breaks for her and her family. Thank God for body camera footage, otherwise they would have lied. I did see the entire footage.There was NO NEED to enter her home. She said she heard something outside and they told her they didn't find anything. Then they enter and start questioning her, they ask her her last name and she seems confused, so they ask for ID and she can't find it. That's when they tell her to turn off the boiling water and the rest played out. So very very sad.
Otherwise, the officer that killed her did lie. And he did not have his body camera on.

Asking her to go turn off the stove was the "staging" of the killing. Sonya complying with this command was the worst mistake.
If you do the research of police killings they are opportunist who seek for the right time to where these killings are justifiable.
Sonya being by a pot of boiling water or holding boiling water can be seen as a threat. Thus, they were able to pawn her.
This staging was done to me a few years ago in Chicago when I was ambushed by several squad cars while walking near a beach with my boyfriend.
I was put in cuffs and placed in the back of the squad car. After they were done searching the surrounding area for "supposely" a gun.
The cop then opens the back door to let me out, saying he was going to release me. He then tell me I can go with the cuffs still on my wrists and his hand blocking my way to leave. He then said "go under my arm"...e.g staging.
I did not move because the command did not make sense that I could freely leave while 1) still in handcuffs, and 2) him blocking my way to leave.
I knew that if I would have went under his arm, I would have been killed, and him killing me would have been justified.
I did not move until he removed the cuffs and got out of my way. I filed an affidivat at the police station the next day and got a nice pay out.

It was heartbreaking watching the interview with her father. She was a tiny woman that two huge men were afraid of……how can you call the police for help and then end up in a body bag. And the fact they tried to cover it up and let the family think she was gunned down by an unknown assailant……what in the whole wide world!

I find it interesting that everything was done so quickly, showing the body cam, having this so called police officer arrested and now having the department say this isn’t the training. This is unusual. I believe this is the training and the department should be fully investigated even though they moved this quickly

She had Lupus her diagnosis was grim, she didn't have the strength to hurt anyone. The man was possessed and was hell bent on killing that lady. The cop told the EMTs "don't bother" to help her. I'm sure that this isn't the first person that he's murdered.
I think both cops should be charged because if they told her to turn the water off and put the pot on the cabinet they should have not shot her so both should be indicted

Most videos claim that Sean Grayson's bodycam was not turned on until after the incident. It was on the entire time. The Illinois State Police channel posted a video with both bodycams. First Sean Grayson's bodycam and then the other officer's bodycam. The other officer rendered aid until medics arrived to bring Miss Massey to the hospital. The other officer was disgusted with the circumstances. He knew Grayson made a terrible decision.
