Tell Haylee I love her long silky beautiful strawberry color hair. All your girls have amazing Hair. Girls are such great💪 helpers. They will have such awesome memories when they are older and have their own families in 10-15 years from now. looking back at all those great times they all had with their Dad and Mom. Chad embrace these time you have with them now because as they get older they may not want to be helping so much. Can wait to see the girls milking the cows that's if you are getting milking cows. It has been fun watching the videos of your first off grid cabin. My wife and I looked at that cabin about 5 years ago and were close to purchasing it but decided that we wanted something closer to the road. We did end up purchasing a place about 10 miles NW on the other side of M123. We have recently converted to all solar and have not used the propane generator for almost a year now. My wife grew up 1/4 mile from the falls and graduated from Paradise High School. We are loving our off grid living and hope to spend more time there after we retire in a few short years.

@@9252LIFE winter was not as snowy as last year mostly due to warm ups and rain. We are 14 miles north of Newberry about 11 miles south of Lake Superior so we are definitely in the snow belt. We are only about a mile off m123 and a couple of our neighbors keep the road open. Definitely need snowshoes or snowmobiles to get the 300 yards down the driveway. Will be up next when the smelt are running.

They are a cold weather breed. If they are inside they’d be miserable. Our boy Kerchak comes inside every now and then but you can tell he wants back out as he is uncomfortable because of the heat. Also keeping them outside in the winter will allow their natural winter coat to be full as it’s supposed to. Bringing them in will mess up the cycle.

Never seen anyone bend there panels at the corners, not going to say it's right or wrong. But if you ever need to bend them back, put them flat on the ground with the bent end up, and use your tractor to bend them back. I did like your idea for the gate, never seen that done either! We used the same wire to tie the panels to the Post, but we would double it. You know double the length, then fold in half. You know with a pair of pliers, duct tape, and baling wire you can pretty well fix anything!

Tractor supply has clips that just twist on with a special tool. Thy are supposed to ask if you want them hen you buy panels. EVery time I have asked, they give me a lot of them because most people don't know about them. And they are free.

    • @9252LIFE
      @9252LIFE  Год назад

They only had the clips for the smaller gauge sheep and goat fencing. The cattle panels are to big for them to fit.

a single wire hot fence would give you more flexability and adaptability- doesnt take long for the cows to respect the fence

Yes they will be in hot wire at some point but putting them in hot wire right away when bringing them here for the first time is a no no. They will run out of it.

Great job, but it does raise a question. The upper peninsula has bear, wolf, coyote, cougar and bobcat. Can any of these critters jump the fence, slide through meshing, or climb trees to get inside the perimeter, Chad?

Is the new pup a dog to live with the sheep for their protection? Sheepherders in our area do that but use White Pyrenees that live with them. Fencing coming along. I had permanent pastures and always hung five strand barb wire. The girls are such wonderful helpers and that great room in the kitchen look’s wonderful! What a great decision you made leaving the off grid isolated property for your new place.
    Carry on!!!
PS I worked on aircraft engines and we had to safety wire a lot of stuff. You can get safety wire pliers that have a system to twist the wire. Plus aircraft safety wire will take the twist w/o breaking. Just a thought.
If interested I will get you the supplier.

Thank you Dave. Yes the Pup will be living with the sheep full-time. She’s also a Bulgarian Karakachan like our boy Kerchak. They are some of the best guardian dogs you can get. And yes we definitely don’t regret leaving the old property that’s for sure! 😆 As far as the wire I think we’re going to put in wood post instead of the T post eventually. Make it look nicer and be a bit sturdier

    Hiya,
    Nice video; thank you all.
Why do I keep seeing in videos from the US people starting tractors etc., with the headlights on? It puts a charge-draining strain on the battery and just reduces the life of the battery by years. The starting charge is enough of a drain on its own. This is how to bend plates, and that ain't good.
    Stay safe, Steve...

    • @9252LIFE

The tractors lights come on automatically. Must be a safety feature for us Americans.
