About Us:
We are a homeschool and homesteading family of 6 that farms our 1 acre permaculture organic acre in WA State. We are currently building on our new 20 acre homestead in North Idaho. We garden, seed save, raise meat rabbits, raise chickens, process our own meat, save our own seed, can, bake, and do just about everything that we can ourselves to achieve a self sufficient and debt free life for our family.
I’m building a 2 acres homestead here in Atlanta Ga. with my children ages 9 and 12. Watching y’all pictures is God’s proof of just how connected and interdependent we are on each other. Let’s us all keep praying for each other! Many Blessings!

Cherish every moment with your children, living the lifestyle you've chosen, while making lasting memories. My wife and I have only one child. Now she's 30 and married, with no children. I miss the days when our daughter was a kid. Gardening, raising and training our dogs, fishing, and so much more. Just enjoying life. I wish you and your family nothing but the best. When we were closing with the new owners of my grandmother's home after she passed it was during a long drought. But all of us grandkids assured them that "watering" the multitude of established fruit trees and garden plants wasn't necessary due to us visiting the property for upkeep and memory sharing, the TEARS we all shed from all the rollercoaster of emotions would probably suffice for a few future seasons.
You have a beautiful family and y'all are leaving behind a multitude of potential blessings for the new owners. While on y'alls way to gathering future blessings on new ground. Its gonna be awesome! New Canvas for a family of artists!

You shouldnt need alot of land to make you happy. Just saying we sit on just under a half acre as well and our garden is only a small portion with eventually growing some dwarf trees and having chickens but we couldn't be any happier with it. Be grateful for what you have cause theres a lot of people out there that can only dream of having just under a acre.
Heather Reis I am happy with our current situation. But I am not settling for it. I grew up on 15 acres. My dream is to have land and that is my end goal. Plus I really dislike being so close to other people (4th of July is the worst). Everyone’s path is different. That is you and this is me.
I still drive by our first house that we sold 20 years ago! I'm always happy to see that it's been well cared for over the years. We are in the process of getting our 20 year old home for sale. I cry every time I think about it, but am so very excited about our new homestead! Much luck to you!

Your 4 kids are so invested in your yard and they do it willingly you 2 did and excellent job in raising 4 productivity kids - so proud of you two - I miss watching your current videos - so I am going thru all that I have missed - love them all !!!

It makes me a little sad that the 3 younger will just have fuzzy memories of this chapter. We will remember it fondly though, such a precious time with out kids as babies

OMG I cried watching this. When our house burned down I remembered bringing my children home from the hospital and when our eldest kids were still babies and as those memories and so much more flashed through my head I looked around and seen only char and rubble. I completely understand what you're saying. However I am so proud of y'all for making a move that will in the end be one of the best decisions y'all made. You have such a huge blessing at your new home and will make so many more memories.

@@GoodSimpleLiving it's still devastating today. We're still struggling hard. However we are seeing some good light. I'm praying for a miracle 🙏. Weather it be our new garden this year is fruitful so we don't struggle for food or our go fund me takes off to help us make our new to us home better and keep the weather out just something. However watching y'all has been an inspiration to me and reminded me to keep working hard even when I feel we're getting nowhere. I'm not sure of the path but the Lord has and will provide.
Another great video. Letting go is hard to do, but everything we make in life is to be passed on if we are lucky, helping new generations to build their dream on what we've left behind on our individual journeys. What you've done here is the springboard to your Idaho move, where new and hopefully even better memories will be made.

Reminds me when I used to go to my Mom's house in Simi Valley Ca and turn over her garden every year so she could plant in the early spring. She even trained her little terrier puddle to find tomato worms....

All those precious times don't belong to that place, they belong to you and yours and they go with you and they will live on in your memories and your hearts and in the precious photos that you have collected. God has many new memories in store for y'all to make! And you sure are passing on some blessings to the next owners! I have just moved from CA to TX to my son's new 5 acre place. There is nothing done here as far as landscape or garden. No compost pile, or beds or anything! I am 60 years old and not looking so forward to starting over from scratch. I just want to go play in the garden! But I do get to play plenty in some mud! I do like mud, so I'm pretty lucky, really. LOL

OK....I've been working hard (well not that hard. Love your videos) to catch up on all you guys have done up til now and so far this is absolutely my favorite video. The images of your children growing up on your 1 acre homestead were very touching to me. But what got me most was how much care you were putting into making sure that all your gardens were going to be ready for the next family. That they would be able to take on the mantle that you started and take care of their own family. Seeing your sentimental journey over the years at your place (great collection of photos by the way!) brought similar emotions up as we prep for our move. And like you, we are still looking forward, but leaving behind the place that harbors great memories of our children growing up here hits pretty hard, as we prep for our move. Difficult to leave in some ways, but joy in looking ahead. I shed a tear or two when you shared your heart about that. I know those emotions are so real for you!

That's so cool that you spend your time getting things ready for the new owners. All they have to do is move in. We have had to delay closing before because the people decided when they moved out, it didn't matter how bad they left it since it was sold.

When i had to move from the house my kids grew up in my tears came a few months later. My husband passed away there so i didnt want to remember. When i go there now to get rent, i remember the good. The house im in now will be hard when i sell only because this is my husbands family home,5 Generations have lived here.... cry girl.

Something to think about, when building your pump house, install a removable access panel directly above the well. This will be in case you need to do any repairs in the future on your pump. Just a thought.
