Excellent tutorial. Open DMX has all of the timing etc generated by the host computer whereas a few of the other dmx boards like the ENTEC Pro have onboard processors and all the timing is generated by it. The flash rate of the TX (transmit) led should be at the 40fps (25mS) or 20fps (50mS) that the sequences in Xlights (or similar) are created in. It is possibly half that rate with a flash on on 1 tx cycle and flash off for the next tx cycle.
