Before you disconnect the battery. Try holding the power button+skip forward button for like 5-10 seconds until you get a message “sync reset transmitted”. May solve your problem
i've been pulling my hair out trying to get my fusion's bt back, and you sir just saved my life, as i no longer have to listen to Big Willie Style (my only cd) everyday
I had the same issue with my 2010 Ford Escape. After spending an hour and a half on the phone with Ford only for them to tell me to take the car to a dealership I decided to see what the internet had to say about the issue. Disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds and repairing my phone worked. Thank you for your post Li!
Wow... This worked for a 2014 Fusion too. iPhone 8 stopped connecting. Just disconnect the battery. I waited for a minute in case it needed that long to clear its "confused memory". I guarantee if you asked Ford they'd send you to Apple and vice versa and you'd not solve this problem unless you turned to the real people solving problems on RUclips. Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!! My husband and I were getting so frustrated trying to pair his phone.. Found your video, disconnected the battery for 30 seconds, and it worked like a charm 😁
I had a battery replaced at a Ford dealer. Similar issue solved by a youtuber like you. The clock/date couldn't be reset. The youtuber suggested to disconnect the negative battery lead for 10 minutes . Did it and the clock/date started working again. Ford customer service advised me to also try a "Key Cycle" - Turn the vehicle off, open drivers's door, lock the vehicle with the door open, close the door, wait 2 minutes, restart vehicle. I am going to try this, also as now the sync system will not let me pair my phone's contacts. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man! This was driving me nuts. The Ford site took me through a bunch of rigmarole, none of which worked. Master reset did not work, but disconnecting the battery for 30 sec fixed it for my 2015 Focus. Non My-Ford Touch version.
Bro, u are the saviour.. I was having this trouble with my Ford Figo Indian version from past 1 year and it never resolved. Now with this trick it got fixed. Love u from India❤
Dude this just fixed it for me, wasn’t having Bluetooth issues with it not turning on or off just wasn’t seeing sync on my phone ever. Did this and it worked! Thanks again.
Three years from original post but thank you for the info! It worked today on my 2016 Ford Explorer with Sync. First time I have had this problem in four years of having car.
Try messing with the voice button. That seemed to be locked up after a phone call. After I commanded the voice call button to "remove Bluetooth" it started working again.
Thank you so much for this. Not many videos about our particular Stang radio. Exactly what I needed and it worked. I'll be checking out anything else you done to your mustang.
So, I mistakenly removed my phone from the Blue Tooth pairing on my 2016 F-150. When I go in and try to reconnect it will not recognize that phone. I have tried my wife's phone and the system will connect with it. Soooo, what is my corrective action?
This fix worked for my 2015 Ford Escape, simply disconnected the battery and reconnected it. Only thing that got the Bluetooth to work correctly again. Thank you!!
This worked for me. Bluetooth would connect for calls on Samsung, but not for audio. Unplugged negative from the battery and everything worked after plugging it back in.

Yep. Crappy technology. Thanks for the help! ... After 1/2hr on hold with Ford's "technical support", I gave up / hung up to do more internet research... I found your video and proceeded to do what I was thinking might work (disconnect and reconnect battery). It works again...for how long...nobody knows...I will tell my wife NOT to disconnect the devices in the menu...if (when) it happens again. Perhaps deleting the devices is not necessary. I will go straight for the battery next time.
Thank you so much it worked prior to this I changed a burnt fuse under the glove box which could have possibly caused it it was not completely burnt but maby just enough to cause a problem
Not just a mustang issue, but with Ford in general. Have this problem often with my 2015 F150. Disconnecting the battery for a minute is the fastest way to fix it.
Use this to clean the terminal amzn.to/2q0xv6o and then use this to spray on to protect terminal after you remove all existing corrosion amzn.to/2q0rerk
I haven't tried disconnecting battery to reset sync module. I have a 2015 Ford Transit connect in which phone sync stopped working a couple of months ago. Dealership costs too much to bother on a budget right now. When I depress the phone button on the pod, nothing activates. Same with the media button. I wonder if the problem is related to getting a new tomtom gps and setting it for Bluetooth reception of calls. If so, I haven't been able to unset it from the Tom tom. thought I could use both the ford sync and have option with the tom tom as well. The Tom tom is also no longer functioning as a phone bluetooth as well. will try the battery disconnect on my next service appt. BTW, media button on the pod also does not activate.
Thank you so much I was having a problem connecting the Bluetooth in my 2015 ford fusion hybrid and I tried this and it worked thank you so much I appreciate it
Thanks for posting this video, it's been great help. I was wondering if you've problems with the system not being able to display the outside temperature?
My menu wont even pull up sync or bt settings. When I hit menu all I get is clock settings, display settings, and camera settings (back up camera). None of these lead to sync or bt.
I'm having that problem right now, my "Media" and "Phone" bottoms aren't doing anything, plus, when I press "Menu" there's not such thing as a "SYNC Settings", so what can I do?
I have changed Android phones a couple of times since my last comment, but I also updated to the newest version of the Sync version for this model via USB, and I haven't had one Bluetooth Audio Error since then.

I’m having problems keeping my audio on for Bluetooth in my 2015 Ford Fusion. Everything else is connected but my audio won’t work. It will connect for a second and then it says Bluetooth Media Disconnected. Anyone know what I can do??
I have this same issue and I always gotta do a master reset and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds, but this problem reoccurs every 2-3 months. Anyone have a more permanent fix?
Paul Speaker nope there is no XM option. The closest you can get is install XM app on your smartphone and stream using Bluetooth but of course you'll need an active subscription
Does anyone know if you can turn on the radio without the power button? I bought a in dash kit that cause me to remove and replace the power knob and the tune knob but now the after markets are stuck in and can't turn on or off the unit. For right now my stereo comes on ever time I jump in the car!
Try to pull the fuse on the radio to reset the memory of the Sync 3, or disconnect the battery for 3 min and reconnect. It should erase the old settings and start fresh so you can pair your device
I just went from the 4 inch to the sync 3. Love it, but one issue I am having is when I make a phone call through the bluetooth the am/FM radio comes on rather then the phone call.
Hey it’s been 2 years so I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t answer. Did you ever get that figured out? And how much was the conversion? I have the base model and I’m only seeing $1900 😬
