The Sky Islands of Tears of the Kingdom. When I first started the game and heard the chords that play when you’re up there, it reminded me immediately of 0:00-1:18
My band is playing this song this semester. My teacher tells me that he picked this song because of the French Horn part. It made me feel special, as I play 1st Horn.
Last year(2015-16), this piece was the finale of my school's spring concert. We played it right after Purgatorio... I remember it being so amazing. It was a magical moment that brought us all to such high spirits. I got to see a lot of my band's character that night, as ten minutes after our amazing performance, our band director explained to us that he was leaving the school. It was a tough time, very few dry eyes in the band that night...
I just found the clip of my high school band performing this. It was one of my favorite things we played, and I was lucky enough to have the trumpet solo.
I can remember being in high school and reynoldsburg Ohio I was a part of a band in high school and we play this piece for our marching band show Friends back a lot of memories thank you for posting this God bless you!
This is by far and easily one of the top five modern arrangements of classical music for me! We played it in 2000 when I was a sophomore and it’s just beautifully composed!
Ah, my high school marching program did a version of this piece, along with inferno, in one of our shows. Theme was “knocking on heaven’s door.” This part always gave me chills
A few years ago the wind ensemble at my high school played this at the last concert for the senior song! It sounded just like this and I knew that I had fallen in love with this piece. Its a piece that stays with you long after the music stopped.
Peach County High School played this last year and got straight ones at festival!! It was my favorite one to play, and i was a freshman! We did soo well!! Under the direction of Darren Johnson!
I performed this last year. Changed my life! We also played Purgatorio. Another good piece to listen to(also one of my favorites) is Apollo: Myth and Legend.
eu toquei ela aqui no Brasil na oficina de música de Curitiba a dois anos ...eu fui 2° trompa naquele ano ..foi a melhor musica que eu já toquei só de escutar ela da vontade de tocar ela de novo :)
i play the first trumpet part in the brass quartet thing in the beginning. my favorite thing in life. ever. all of the movements are wonderful. gotta get on reading the book now.
my band played it my junior and senior year and we had two french horns and we still rocked it and the freaking woodwind part is beast i played clarinet 2nd chair and it freaking rocked love this song we really wanted to play purgatory but we couldnt find it
I loved this my sis played it her Jr. Year of high school in symphonic band all four pieces first chair sax she rocked it I rally loved this piece though
I played most of my sophomore year in a shadow I created for myself. My band had two french horns with their names written perfectly and neatly at the top of the pieces. Those two french horns were considered the best. I played The Inferno my freshman year with one of them, and then my sophomore year it was only me. My name was written in a small bad font underneath a player I can only describe as jaw-droppingly amazing. Because I was so afraid of not living up to what my band director had before me, the solos scattered throughout all of these pieces had scared me. While practicing The Purgatorio solo I had a breakdown. I cried for 30 minutes over the fact I wasn’t good enough. That song ruined me. At the concert I got an award for ‘most improved’ but I couldn’t understand why. When we played Purgatorio my band director helped my breathe, and I played the best I could. The next day, and that night, I got collectively over 20 compliments on it. I’m still only a sophomore, and I can’t wait for the next years to improve. My self doubt will still be there, but now I know I can do it.
I remember I played 1st trumpet on this song my Freshman year, I could never get the first note, it always frustrated me because I never got it on any performance, Except the last one. But my solo after the vocal part always sucked... I'm going to be a junior this year, and I know I can play the hell out of this song now.
@ShinjuxXx We played this my freshman year and I was placed in the highest band level with the Seniors and YES it was EPIC!!!!!!!!!! That was over 10 years ago though lol
Hey guys you know what, when my band played this song, at 2:55, I was playing the vibraphone and guess how I had to play it. Instead of hitting with a mallet, I had to use a bow from a cello and rubbed the edge of the C bar very hard. I had to do it repeatedly all the way until 3:39. Very difficult to do but it made a really spectacular noise.
@starbamboo6460 LOL! Don't worry. I had really loud too and had to raise the bell as well towards the audience. As seen in some of the performances done by Igor Stravinsky. And we had only 2 French Horns - My friend and I. :P

3:38 is my favorite part, when the flutes and clarinets come in while the others are still singing hallelujah.

The tuba has a great part in this too
The Divine Comedy is the best music I have ever played.
Playing first chair euphonium, so much fun!
I just found the clip of my high school band performing this. It was one of my favorite things we played, and I was lucky enough to have the trumpet solo.

The Divine Comedy is our marching show this year. I absolutely love it!
I wish the last note was written as a dotted quarter note. There is power in that last note! We did it when we played it, and it bought goosebumps!

Peach County High School played this last year for competition. and we got all ones. it was fun playing the part with the wine glasses.
I'm a junior in high school and I play the tenor sax, all we do is repeat the eighth notes. Over, and over, and over... Lol, but I love it!!!!
We played this in my high school symphonic band. Way back in 1997-98, I had the joy of playing part of the trumpet duet at the beginning.
Peach County High School played this last year and got straight ones at festival!! It was my favorite one to play, and i was a freshman! We did soo well!! Under the direction of Darren Johnson!
Played this on oboe my freshmen year! Had Inferno's opening oboe solo. ABSOLUTELY BREATH TAKING MUSIC TO PLAY AND HEAR WHEN IT ALL COMES TOGETHER!

I performed this last year. Changed my life! We also played Purgatorio. Another good piece to listen to(also one of my favorites) is Apollo: Myth and Legend.
For my next marching show my band director has decided to use the Divine Comedy and I am very excited to play such beautiful pieces of music!
I did it my junior year of high school and it was fun. This will be a fun one to do.
eu toquei ela aqui no Brasil na oficina de música de Curitiba a dois anos ...eu fui 2° trompa naquele ano ..foi a melhor musica que eu já toquei só de escutar ela da vontade de tocar ela de novo :)

So are we! Were playing the entire Divine Comedy.

Our high school band based its part 4 off of that composition. Big hit.
