    I did not understand a thing in this vid months ago. But, having now learnt the basics of Arabic verbs and after practicing lots and lots of verb conjugations over the past 6 months, I now understand everything he said. To benefit from this video, you must already know how to conjugate fail madhi and mudaria (past and present tense verbs).

      Arabic grammar is not hard to learn. I am not technically minded and really hate complex subjects. But I've done well with Arabic grammar. Not due to being super intelligent, which I'm not, but only for this reason: small steps; daily learning.
      So, don't start off trying to learn Arabic by going through the above vid and other vids produced by this organisation. Instead, follow a book which starts from the very basics, giving you time to practice and only then introducing new grammar subjects. The "Madinah Arabic Reader series", 8 volumes, I found most helpful. These are small books, all with English explanations, introducing new grammar topics In a gradual manner, giving you plenty of time to practice. For example, you spend time on the past tense (Madhi) verbs in the first couple of volumes. Only once you've practiced it sufficiently, are mudaria (present tense) verbs introduced. There's also a huge RUclips tutorial which goes along with this, free of charge, where a Canada based tutor (Indian or Pakistani origin) basically goes through each chapter systematically (in English, see www.lqtoronto.com/videos.html). Try this for a few months.
      Lastly, spend no more than 45-60 minutes on language EVERY DAY. It has to be an everyday thing, else you won't learn it. Don't spend 3-4 hours on a Monday, then 2-3 hours on a Friday...you won't learn it. You need to make it an everyday thing, spending just 45-60 minutes on it. That's all.
      Madinah Arabic series, along with the accompanying free RUclips tutorial, I found most beneficial...you'll see that Arabic grammar, while vast, is very logical and you'll be able to easily grasp grammar concepts.
      I'm recommending Madinah Arabic (the English 8 volume series) only because I've now spent a lot of time on it. I'm sure there are other helpful books out there too. But this vid on verbs, if you're new to Arabic verbs, will simply make little sense. It's more for those who've already spent some time on it.

    I understand the student must know the pronouns and some basic grammar before this lesson, but it would be very helpful if the words were at least said out loud in English as "he" for 'howa' etc. Also, why not say the translation of the word at least once??? It will re-enforce learning without using any extra time and will correct someone who may have something else in mind...all without adding any extra time. Doesn't make sense that the lesson is in English but the translation isn't provided in English even once. Perhaps captions/labels of English translation can be added over video. Otherwise really good. Thanks :)

    • @lightbearer7652
      @lightbearer7652 8 лет назад +4

      no not all arabic words have roots, some words are classifieds as particles. but these words are particles, auxiliary verbs, demonstrative pronouns, etc, and there's of course ancient obscure words, that were rarely used, and their meanings are unknown.
      any word you can reduce to 7 or less constants can be adopted in arabic,
      eg.
      cancel = cncl which can be used as an arabic root.
      telephone = tlphn = tlfn
      delete = dlt
      etc.
