I wrote a crummy review on it and was about to throw them all away(I have about 10). I was so mad but then I was playing with attinys and i figured i should try again and saw your video. I was used to plugging in the device first to get the port situated correctly. I had no Idea it would work without setting the port but after seeing your video i tried and worked every time. Thank you so much for making this video.

Had the same problem took me all day to find a solution, in Device Manager change view to 'Show Hidden Devices' and it should be listed as either 'Unknown' under 'Other Devices' or as 'Digispark Bootloader' under 'libusb-win32 devices', select whichever one it is and manually update the driver using the entire unzipped Digistump.Drivers folder. It doesn't have to be connected to do this as Windows will remember any device that has ever been connected to it, and you should now be able to burn your program onto the device.

Could it be that I connect them without installing the drivers beforehand. I'm also using Ubuntu 24 to test them. Somebody? Thinking of asking for a refund to the Amazon seller cuz of the faulty diodes on it, but not sure if it was my fault.

@@SimpleElectronics Oh I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure it out. My goal was to have a computer app communicate with the the device and have the rgb lights change color. I ran into some undetermined conflict between the digiusb and arduino_neopixel. I could do one or the other, but when both libraries are there neither works. I tried digicdc (which i think is the newer digiusb?) but i couldn't get that to work either.
Thanks for the reply though. It was appreciated.

@@SimpleElectronics It's finally working! But to my own surprise, it wasn't a driver problem. After everything I tried, Windows started to recognize the board when I connected it to a USB 2.0 extension cable. Apparently it was not making good contact with the ports of the pc, maybe because they are 3.0 ports instead of 2.0? Who knows.
Anyway, thanks for your help and I hope this comment helps others too!

    Good day, Sir.
I've been trying to program this ATTiny85 MCU for MONTHS .. well, okay, for weeks (but it sure fell like months LOL) and did everything you describe in your great video, without success, I must confess. I run Windows 7 and the latest IDE Software.
I've loaded and installed the drivers and that seemed successful .. and rebooted the PC, of course. One thing that I think would keep me from successfully complete this task is that it seems my computer does NOT recognize the device I'm plugging into its USB port(s) (ATtiny85 MCU .. the one you show on the right at the beginning of your video).
Do you have a solution to cure this problem ? Thank you for your time and effort in assisting me on this .. I'm at loss.
Have a great day and stay safe. I hope to read from you soon.

Ok just to check, 1: you have nothing connected to the pins of the digispark when uploading the code? 2: you are only plugging the board in when it says "uploading" and 3: could it be a faulty board?

@@SimpleElectronics Thank you for your quick reply. It is well appreciated.
1). I only have he bare board connected to the USB cable. No other connection is present.
2). I connect the board only when asked to do so. Since the board is not recognized by the PC, it times out after a while (60 seconds or so).
3). I don't think the board is defective. I bought 10 of these boards and tried 3 of them out without success. It is very frustrating y'know .. LOL
One thing that might be a hint to you is that the Blink Sketch was not preloaded into these mini MCUs.
