People don't realize this since they are farm animals, but the animal we domesticated goats from are actually mountain animals. So their hooves are designed for climbing up rocky cliff faces and climbing is (by default) a part of their instinct.
Interesting how a random oryx and a spider ended up having some kind of symbiotic relationship out in the wild. I wonder if this will start happening with other oryx's?
the best part is these are webs that are DESIGNED for this interaction This could actually be a community of spiders, not just one or two. We are literally witnessing what may be a rise of convergent evolution and symbiosis before our very eyes.
I believe it may well be! Its like an accidental buffet. Spiders are everywhere, and so happens it was on the oryx horns that is frequented by bugs. So it stayed and thrived. And if those same spiders come in contact with other oryx or similar animal, their strategy will be the same. Especially the ones that were born on the horns. So interesting to see how nature always adapt or change to different environments.
A drowning crocodile? That's good for the history books. I often wondered how my neighbor's dog ended up in my backyard. I guess animals might inherit the earth. I'm making plans for the future. LOL
I feel like the spiders making webs in the horns is like their version of a mobile RV home. Get to see new places all the time and always have a place to eat and sleep. lol
I absolutely love these episodes about animal intelligence, and the unique behaviors observed by individuals of a species, let alone groups! Also, whoever does your animations has really come a long way! I enjoyed the little animated skits when I first subscribed to this channel, but they've become so much more complex and creative as time goes on.
I find it pretty funny, that you either didnt pay attention to a video about factoids, or forgot about a specific thing youre commenting on. That my friend is no worm, you see the legs? the many hundreds of them, and do you know the size difference between worms and ants? yeah, not a worm. XD
Then there was the spider that was bitten by a radioactive man. It became known as Manspider, and developed the ability to use 8 remote controls at one time and leap from channel to channel.
That’s the best part of everything because he talks about everything a little bit using an animal to get to the other all his videos are like this and it’s what amazing me ! 💪💪
Do a search for goats on cliffs or dams, it's unbelievable how steep they can climb, even the kids. They need to climb to access enough salt to survive in places they've lived.
The crows also put nuts on the road for cars to drive over them and I'm in Canada. We even saw one put a nut under the tire of a car waiting at the light to turn green. Smart birds.
The other interesting bit about the spiders and the oryx is that, barring insectivorous birds, those spiders are now protected from insectivorous reptiles and mammals. I'm curious to see just how that odd partnership may play out in the coming years. It'd be interesting if we start seeing other such symbiotic relationships develop on that nature reserve.
That crocodile strait up killed itself. It doesn't matter how big you are, being uprooted from everything you know and no telling what trauma added on top of that, would tear down anything.
My friends and I made our own boards back in the 80's. I made a mahogany board that was really gorgeous but didn't hold up well. We learned a lot building our own boards and it's great that you are encouraging people to do the same. I just might get back into making boards again after seeing this.
When I was in Kindergarten, we went to one of those drive through animal parks as a class, and my mom spotted an antelope who had apparently walked through one of those big garden spider’s web and had it stuck between its horns. She thought it was cool and pointed it out to me, not realizing the little boy next to us was very afraid of spiders. His dad literally had to hold him down because he was trying to climb out of the vehicle to get away.
just something cool about ants i got from that clip of the ants pulling the millipede. weaver ants are one of the strongest ants, not THE strongest but they hold leaves together from other branches for hours, leaves because they live in trees. just something cool about ants :)
Ya know, I hope the bird has a new owner since that cage it was in is waaay too small for a large parrot to live in. A bird that size should be in a cage at least the size of an extra large dog kennel.
Some have a defective 🧬 that makes them unable to tell whether or not they should surface it's so rare that it's still not fully understood or recognized also some who eat rocks may actually eat to much weight for them to surface as well and since it's almost impossible for them to spit out they stay on the bottom and drown it happens often but is rare to actually see happening
Its funny how my dog climbed my backyard fence with a ladder and came back after 2 days. Oh and yes the ladder was put in over backward but i still dont get it how he did it.
When I was a kid, I had a cat that would climb the ladder on my bunk bed. It was straight up and down with round metal rungs. The top bunk was her bed.
For the crows it not just in Japan, in central Europe where I live they do exactly the same with hazelnuts and walnuts and probably more that I didn’t see myself.
I saw our crows do the same. With nuts. And I once saw a crow feast on a turtle... I live in Austria. We dont have wild turtles there. This guy just snacked a turtle from a family and threw it onto the road to feast on it. Poor family, poor turtle. But yeah that is what animals do, no?

The ants pulling the worm in a line being compared to humans building the pyramids was very illuminating and a well placed analogy!
