Awwww, this bring back many memories of visiting family who used to live in Mandeville....Looking forward to coming back and rediscovering Mandeville all over again!! Thank you for the video.
i just love Mandeville, Manchester as a whole. The residents are very interesting. Many beautiful houses. Spent 5 months there. Hope to visit some time in the near future.
Manchesta, the home of Jenny and her sista.I was born in Mandeville which used to be Jamaica's best kept secret.Jamaicans returning from abroad were the ones who discovered this cool and peaceful town in the hills. We only want people with good intentions to settle here. Take your Bad Mind and crime elsewhere.🙏🌴
For some reason I want mandeville to stay secluded with trees and cool breeze. Mi nuh wah nuh 50 story building everywhere mi turn with little to no space to breathe. 🤭
I think mandeville should be designated a city long ago but I think the chamber of commerce is too soft and silent on the matter ...before the carona pandemic there were moves been made to get mandeville designated a city but I have not heard anything since that time..mr Philip Hofatt was the most vocal chamber president who was lobbying for that when I use to attend high school...but as I said before I think the Manchester chamber of commerce is too soft and silent and I think the members just concentrating on there own individual business.
beautiful mandeville should be the next city most definately but the market should be moved to a different location from out of the business sector I would agree that the court house should remain because it is an historical monument only need to be upgraded also have the pedlars off the street and give them a decent and secure place to sell their products also keep it clean by installing garbage bins on sidewalks just my suggestion ♥️🇯🇲
@mark watson Mark I know Jamaica is neither poor nor third world as labelled by outsiders. The humanity and spirituality of the people alone makes this country richer than the richest of some of the others.
@mark watson in my opinion it is to me . Why should Jamaica have only 2 cities . Portmore was designated a city . Mandeville is way more developed than portmore. Portmore is more of residential area anyway.
@mark watson it will become a city whether you like it or not sir . Mandeville will become Jamaica central city . How ideal mid way between montego bay and Kingston.
Mandeville needs lots redevelopments, plus look at the layouts of the town and the people walking in road! It needs more attention from the government!
Yes best town in our island my home town but the Govournace of our country treat things like kgn is the only twn we need a balance but we're comfortable with our town we good once we keep crime and violence out .😍😍
Blessings mr. Reid. Yeah Mandeville is close to being a city but it needs a port. All cities have a port. They would have to build an airport since it’s not close to the sea. I heard the government talking about building a third city which means that they have no intention of upgrading Mandeville any time soon. If they build out the Vernamfield development in Clarendon then that might qualify Mandeville since the airport wouldn’t be that far.
@@nicklegendmusic a port is also a virtual point where network connections start and end , what’s the difference.? In the same sense a port in context that in making the reference, is a place where travel between two major population centers is fast and efficient.
Nice video, but Mandeville town centre needs a facelift though , some painting etc, many of these buildings looks the same from the 80's . As for City status, no, they are not ready as yet. When you drove going down towards Shopping Centre ,down there looks nice, as I said , some places needs a facelift. The park in front the courthouse looks nice. Just my take
Because of congestion, I don't think Mandeville will declare a city. The Jamaican Government is looking for an area to take pressure off KGN and Mobay to add government agencies and other corporate offices along with international investors interest. It's not about size, it's about space, low-lined area on the waterfront, halfway between the two cities and international appeal. Ocho Rios fit that criteria!!!!!!!
My friend I dint know if you have ever travelled overseas but there are hundreds of cities that are not located on waterfront, there are several hundred acres of land in the williamsfield area that use to belong to the then alcan/windalco that can be use to expand the city..the congestion in mandeville is due to government spending most of its resources on expanding roads in Kingston...mobay and the north coast ..plus the constant building of those large housing schemes in st Catherine/portmore is what is putting pressure on the infrastructure in Kingston and st Catherine, the government needs to spread the developments more across the country...Las Vegas which falls into one of the rich cities in the world was built in a desert...no sea..no river..we just need governments with vision. ..and with that said I am looking forward to mandeville being designated a city in the not too distant future...I think that's why the present government is building the toll road to williamsfield Manchester/mandeville.
@@nicholasreid1843 you keep reminding me of the beach not being an issue. Ok! What about everything else that I said? The size of Mandeville is gonna be it's downfall according to what the government plan is. They wanna pack more buildings in this new city to take the strain off KGN and Mobay who can't take anymore. They already canceled out May Pen as a contender because of it's further south location even if the Vernamfield Airport should develop. South of Ocho Rios in Moneague "away from the beach", seems like the area the government is leaning towards. You mention that government use most of these resources in St Catherine/ Portmore housing scheme. Well, the hottest housing market since and post pandemic is Great Pond and Drax Hall areas of Ocho Rios according to the Housing Agency of Jamaica and Real Estate Realtors Association, and the last time I checked, these are not government housing development, it's Gated Communities that's been developed by returning residents, ExPats and local business professionals.
How on earth can I call such a wide spread developed large area a town . Mandeville as so many suburban areas surrounding it as well. Mandeville Is basically the same size as montego bay .
I'm living overseas in Florida how can I get in contact with the local authorities in mandeville to find out why mandeville hasn't been designated a city all this time it really pisses me off mandeville is such a wonderful place and deserves city status asap
My home town. Thank you for sharing!

Mandeville is Car Mart central... I dont know if anywhere has as many car mart per square mile
I guess more than 50 car marts there. lol
What is a car mart/Car Mart?
where you buy car
@@FireReid so, auto dealers, then. I thought it was a car parts franchise or something.
new and used car they sell
It has always been my central city

Big up Fire Reid. When you going to pass through George’s Valley ?
very soon
Hi Fire Reid, touring Mandeville Town I see. Congested town centre. Thought they said Jamaicans are poor?
@mark watson Mark I know Jamaica is neither poor nor third world as labelled by outsiders. The humanity and spirituality of the people alone makes this country richer than the richest of some of the others.
I thought they were thinking on letting Mandeville be a city along time ago, I think it is time.. my town. Cool cool Mandeville.
very very nice and cool place indeed
As city#3 in Jamaica 🇯🇲
What do you mean by next City ?it's already a City
ok
I will refer to mandeville as a city I dont care if it hasn't been officially designated such . In my eyes it's a city
Amen

Yes it going to be the next city

I think May Pen, Clarendon should be the third city in Jamaica. The location is right, infrastructure and the population for such a change.
lol they will reach there someday

this is something to think about very good pointers I share the same view actually
You are incorrect the capital of Brazil is in the middle of the country and doesn't have a port. Countless cities in the world without a port
Please read my comment again, I didn’t say sea port , I said port. Brasilia does have an international airport. That’s a port.
@@donaldbarnett156 you are wrong bredda a port is a maritime facility. Do a quick research and you will see 💯😎

I always wonder where did garnet silk berid
Greeting really Manchester
Today is Sunday night almost 12AM
Junction St Elizabeth will be the next city

Traffic on the wrong side of the road
Isn't it already a city, retorical question.
Can it becomes a city without congestion and pollution!
God bless FIRE REID.To be honest Mandeville is hardly a proper town much less a cityHavent change much in 46 years.
well it has grown somewhat over time
Hardly a proper town??
ITS already a city......
Could be but it isn't. Hot air 😂😂😂😂
Mandeville don't have what it takes to be a city. Montego bay and kingston is the only city in jamaica
