I love that place! My husband and I when we lived in Michigan after we were married, we went there. That was back in the mid 90's. We went in the summer. They also have the huge Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation right next to Greenfield Village. All very interesting to visit. I wish we had visited Greenfield Village at Christmas time. I, like you, really liked that cottage built in the 1600's. I love history too. Great to reminisce!

Dear Pat, When you started talking about Greenfield Village, I couldn’t believe it! Our parents drove our family almost halfway across the country to go there in the summer of 1966. It was everything you described! I was in the 6th grade and I have never forgotten it. I’ve always loved old fashioned clothing and was so impressed - I wanted to wear one of those dresses more than anything. We rode in (I can’t remember the model) but an old Ford and what fun that was! I wish I remembered the Cotswold house - it sounds so lovely. For them to put it back together stone by stone must have been a formidable task. Thank you for sharing your memories! I totally agree with you - it is a must see place! And you got to visit at Christmas time - I can only imagine it all decorated. I also love the necklace you made. Those glass beads are very pretty. I admire your talent. I tried making jewelry a number of years ago and wasn’t successful. But your pieces are very nice and have inspired me to maybe try again! Bless you!

It details the Irish emigrants dating back to the 18 th and 19th century leaving Ireland for America. They were all in period costume and baking bread on the fireplace. A wonderful place to visit and I went along with my father and mother. Wonderful memories you tell stories so well and thank you for the recommendation

Hi Granny Pat, I have never heard of Greenfield Village, but it sounds absolutely wonderful. If you ever get the chance, take a trip to colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. I have been there many times since I used to live in Virginia and it is worth the trip. It is especially beautiful at Christmas time and everyone dresses in the period clothing. I loved your story and I thank you so much for sharing it. Much love, Sheila

Hi granny Pat , just wondering if you’ve ever been to the Corning Museum of Glass. Quite fascinating. No where near what I imagined. I know you like to travel. Just wondering. Something you said made me think of that.❤️

What's the difference between cut glass and crystal 🔮 🤔 ? Thank you, Ms. Pat 😊

Probably the same. You have cut glass (much more valuable) and pressed glass. I’m not an expert on anything. Just love it all.

I just looked on Bing at the photos of the Village. Absolutely Beautiful! My 2 favorite houses were the red one with white trim & black shutters & the caramel colored house with the Dark Green Shutters. I couldn't tell if the shutters were dark green or black. Both colors are amazing. I also loved all of the many Black Eyed Susan Flowers!!! The Village is a place that I would Love to visit, but...I do NOT like Henry Ford. He was NOT a nice person. He hated black people. You had to have his approval to purchase one of his cars & if you wanted a second one, He had to approve that which was not done very often. However, the place is wonderful & I would love to go there. Did you buy one of the cookbooks & if you did, please show it to us. GAZEBO I would Love to go there at Christmas time. I would hope for snow too. I can't imagine how beautiful it would have been. How long did you & your friend stay there for each visit? I bet you could smell the wood fires from the kitchens. This video was amazing.

Yes, GAZEBO. The mind goes blank on me at times. I guess that’s one of the great things about old age. Just learn to laugh it off! Yes, we smelled the food and fires.

The U.S. Flag Code states that the American flag can be flown on any day. Nonetheless, there are a few days of the year in which it’s especially fitting to fly the Stars and Stripes, one of which is Labor Day. If you’re the proud owner of an American flag, you should consider flying it in front of your home or business on this national holiday. Below are four important reasons to fly your American flag on Labor Day.
    #1) Honor American Workers
Displaying the American flag on Labor Day allows you to honor American workers. Held annually on the first Monday in September, Labor Day is meant to celebrate the nation’s workforce. According to the Pew Research Center, there are approximately 157 million workers in the United States. Some of these workers have blue-collar jobs, whereas others have white-collar jobs. Regardless, they all play an essential role in keeping our nation up and running. By displaying the American flag on Labor Day, you’ll pay tribute to these great workers.
