What do you mean? If you're going back to school at 40 and want Federal aid, yes you fill out the FAFSA. You'd simply be an independent student so you don't supply your parent's info.

They'll send you the letter, and then you need to figure out how to pay anything due - whether by loans, savings, parent help, or a combination of it.

Need a lot more context here. What's your SAI? What's your income? Parents Income? Your assets? Parents' assets?
