"No human can do that, that's monkey work!" "Tis but a scratch!" "Shoes?? Take 'em off yourself, princess!" Some next-level reacting in the first 10 minutes of this one already 😂
Rebbeca Ferguson and Christopher McQuarrie are easily the best additions the franchise ever had. Oh, and Tom definitely DOES his own stunts, just look on YT for behind the scenes of these movies and you'll see how much effort he and the crew put on each of them. Fallout (the next one) is not only the peak of the franchise but for me, the best action movie since Terminator 2, aka, the best action movie of all time.
He definitely does his own stunts there is a documentary showing him doing some of them. One in particular in the 7th movie is quite viral showing him doing it and probably the most dangerous stunt he ever did.
Tom Cruise trained himself to hold his breath for up to 6 minutes straight and the underwater scene was shot in a several meter deep tank with green screen walls. The set itself was CG, but Tom cruise did actually hold his breath for 6 minutes.
I love the sheer joy on your face as you watch these films. Well most of them anyway ;-) Tom does do all of his own stunts, which is part of why these films really work for me. You need to watch some behind the scenes stuff to see just how much Cruise puts into making these films, and how much he asks of his fellow cast members. I think he clung to the side of that plane for eight flights, for real.
1:30 when I first saw this movie, I assumed the plane was a big prop and that the background was greenscreened, but that's 100% real. Tom Cruise actually hung onto that plane and it really took off with him on the side without a safety harness. Tom Cruise refuses to fake it because it won't look or feel authentic. The man is singularly dedicated to his craft, to the point of lunacy. It's a miracle he hasn't died during a stunt.
13:50 the Abyss? 🙂 They had them breathe liquid so they could go really deep underwater. 🙂 There's a couple movies where they have had a mini-rebreather that lets them breathe underwater without a tank, including thunderball (the bond movie) and Star Wars Episode I. 🙂
Rogue Nation and Fallout are essentially like a Part 1/Part 2 and they're my favorite in the franchise. I *love* Christopher McQuarrie. He knows how to make a great movie and he's also amazing with the fans. He's extremely accommodating and down to Earth. Love seeing Rebecca Ferguson in this as well. Her role as Ilsa Faust is fantastic. Yeah...I just really love this franchise.
Tom Cruise most definitely does do his own stunts. In 2017 filming for Mission Impossible 6 was postponed for quite a long time, due to a failed stunt which caused Tom to break his ankle. So he needed time to recover before continuing filming, and paramount had to put the entire production on hold, because it´s in his contract that he wants to do his own stunts. Also he posts a lot of videos of him doing his own stunts, including hanging form the side of the plain in this movie. He even payed for all the pilot actors of Top Gun 2 for flying lessons, because he insisted that it had to be real, for the movie to look realistic. There are many behind the scenes and mini documentaries of Tom Cruise doing his own stunts for movies. You can easily find the footage, you only have to google it, and countless pages articles and videos will appear, if you would like to see how real it is.
@@joelwillems4081 yup it's still in the film. Whats so amazing is he does the jump, breaks his ankle, still stays in character, and finishes the shot...
Some of Jeremy Renner's best stuff is his MCU movies and TV shows as Hawkeye. He does his best of his best when acting across Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.
Tom Cruise started doing his own stunts from Mission Impossible 2 onwards, and over the years since MI2 had a few stunt doubles however does the majority of his own stunts himself Including the big ones in the MI films. Mission Impossible: Fallout marks the first film where Cruise uses NO Double and does all the stunts himself the same can be said for Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning. In Mission Impossible 2 Cruise did all stunts except for an overview shot of him driving the motorbike between 2 trucks. Mission Impossible 3 although Cruise did his own stunts on the building in China is was with a green screen in a studio however that same year Christian Bale did The Dark Knight and stood on the same town for real which pushed Criuse to do ALL the stunts outside the Burj Khalifa in Dubai himself for Ghost Protocol. My favorite Mission Impossible is Fallout as the stunt-work is the best that Hollywood has on offer!
When it's said that cruise does all of his own stunts, he does them all. That includes cars and bikes (he has done both well before the MI franchise), (piloting) planes (has a pilot's license) and helicopters. There is one particular scene in an upcoming MI film that still blows my mind. And there are behind the scenes productions that show all the planning that goes into these stunts. It's real, not rumor. Stop being so skeptical.
With oxygen doping (Taking pure oxygen until full saturated) the world record was something like 11.5 minutes. With doping its something like 25.5 minutes. These records are set by low and lean muscle mass, elite cardiovascular system and elite mental control. I think most able bodied people can do at least 2 minutes if they can keep calm and don't panic. Though panicking without air is the whole point in that range.
Great reaction and good movie! i Luv this villain 'Solomon Lane' . He is pretty evil and heartless! Great action and Dawn Marie called it... "Best movie ever!" Can't wait for the next MI movie! Thanks for sharing Dawn Marie ❤️💛
Still hung up on that stupid rabbit’s foot 😂. Just know that a JJ Abrams mystery box script is as forgettable as a password you’re forced to come up with. Also, there are tons of behind the scenes footage of Tom a cruise doing his own stunts.
6:22 Well, in 2015 Werner Faymann was the chancellor of Austria. Fortunately the actor doesn't look nor SOUND like him, when talking for this one second. 😂
Tom Cruise does his own stunts, but what most people seem to forget, stunts are not always bodily injury or risk of death, even for stuntmen. For example, I'm sure there are safety cables attached to Tom during any stunts with risk of falling which are erased during post-editing. What is great, is that even those stunts are too extreme for 99% actors. I just see in many reaction videos, the reactor getting surprised that he really did that when in reality there was a green screen. Or another example would be people saying Tom really flew jets in Top Gun 2. No, he sat in the rear seat with another pilot flying but they gave the illusion he was really flying. I am not trying to take anything away from him, just trying to be real and I still appreciate his commitment.
Funny thing though is that TC is an accomplished pilot. I do not know if it is true, but I saw somewhere that he would have been able to fly the jets in TG 2 himself, but it was not allowed for legal/policy reasons.
You need a James Bond series, starting with Connery's Bond, through Roger Moore and up to Craig. The Moore movies were rather silly, but there are some fantastic stunts there.
Every time I watch this movie i can't get invested to the bad guy because he looks eeriely similar to an old boss I had at the time this was in theaters. Takes me right out of the movie every time.
I wish there was an extra that showed the uncut shot the did of that underwater scene. Originally it was shot as a continuous 6 minute scene. At the time it was the longest time holding breath under water until it was beaten by Kate Winslet in Avatar 2 for an astonishing 7mins 15sec
It might be the longest an actor in a movie hold there breath, I don't know, but the 6 minutes scene wasn't really close to the record at the time that was over 23 minutes. Which has been beaten since then and now are over 24 minutes. I don't know why people think he set a record.
Dead reckoning was blitzed by so many bad things in 23 that it wasn't able to be the movie it could have been. When you watch that, it will also be my first time. This'll be fun.
