Last week I had the opportunity to interview Bryan of Kies Motorsports and check out is Ferrari Red BMW F80 M3. He showed me some of his modifications, did a comparison with my 340i, and then we took it out on the road.
Though the F80 looks quite similar to the F30 both inside and out, it is a totally different car from the ground up!

How much did you get the F80 for?
You are not a red kind of guy, but red is one of the best colors on any car, let alone, an M3/4.

Can someone PLEASE recommend a charge pipe for a MANUAL Transmission 2014 335i? I bought this one, and nobody could get it to fit...... It's a "Evolution Racewerks Aluminum Charge Pipes - F3X 335i 435i Manual Transmission" It wouldn't fit. Can someone get me one that will? I cannot use my boostmod3 because it blows up my charge pipe in like 3 days of use.
I already wanted a f80. So many cars on my mind right now.

My F80 was totaled two months ago and I never thought I could miss something so much. Hopefully the E92 that’s coming will be fun. I’m not a dad but my future kids will never hear the end of my love for that car...

Had my Yas Marina Blue F80 for 12 months now and have had an absolute blast owning it. Such a versatile machine. We have two baby seats in the back, can fit groceries in the trunk, and can still be a fun track car.
That’s what I love about BMW. When most companies set out to make a performance car, it ends up being and impractical sports car meant for weekend driving. But BMW gives you their top tier performance in cars that can be driven 7 days a week.

Always seems to be that the M cars really shine and feel a lot more special especially in their handling and suspension setups rather than direct power gains. Really great video Justin and Bryan
All of the M cars feel and drive differently than the non M models. The power and handling are on a much higher level.

I’ve always been an import person mostly because when you are young, those are what you can afford but I always knew I preferred BMW’s over Merced and Audi’s but it wasn’t until I got an F36 that I truly was like wow I wish I would have got into these cars at such a younger age. One of the biggest misconceptions I had was that there wouldn’t be much aftermarket parts and it would be hard to do any maintenance on the car or it would be really hard and really expensive to make them ride better or have more power so I was so happy to learn everything that is possible with the F30/F32/F36 platforms.

Ferrari Red is something special for sure!

Gorgeous car!! I joined the BMW family for the first time back in early July when I bought a 2018 M550i on July 3rd (Car was originally sold on July 4th 2018). I absolutely LOVE my car and even though its on the G30 platform, have watched a number of videos from both Justin and Kies.

Super video and comparison. I have an F82 Competition and I constantly marvel how solid and rattle free it is after 40,000 miles. Wonderful chassis and so well made. Steering is great, I agree, and super responsive! I laughed at your hood comment because I just had my yearly Texas state inspection last week and the tech had to ask me how to open the hood! 😀. I’ve used a bunch of your DIYs....keep up the great work! 🍻

I love this car but settled for the Subaru 2021 STI. I have to say that the rumble of the STI sounds so damn good. If ever I sell a rental property for a high profit then I'll definitely seek out a F80. Beautiful machine Bryan!

@@Mike-zr9xg I'm a single dad of two kids. Once I figure out the rental property situation, I'll sell the STI. The value went up since they stopped making it and I only have 10,000 km on it. I found a few M series around 60~75k CAD.

The DCT is not a automatic. It’s a dual clutch meaning it’s setup just like a manual with the ability to shift on it’s own. There is a good wright up on BMW DCT ‘s on BMW corporate site. :-)
It depends how you define "automatic". It's not a torque converter automatic nor a CVT. But it shifts gears completely automatically via a computer and the two clutches. I don't think when the term "automatic" was invented that it was dependent on the exact technology providing the automatic gear changes just that the driver didn't have to shift. In my mind it's just another type of automatic that happens to use clutches.
I swear to god this car is slaps! Its a dream to have this car especially when it is in red!

Lol, 1st time BMW owner here. 1st time I took mine to a car show I had the same issue with the hood. 🤣 I was kinda frustrated I couldn’t open it until I tried the hood lever again and it opened. 🤦🏽♂️ I’ve done videos of my car from underneath but seeing Bryan explain all the different parts made it that much better.

My friend it’s not automatic it’s dual clutch and it’s actually a stick shift gearbox. Automatic Clutch is controlled
M3 just different fr but the way my bank account is set up I think I’ll stick with my f30 lol 🤦🏾♂️😆

I love the Ferrari Red and Wheels. Thumbs down to it being 4dr with that color. Nice mods though. I still prefer my 135i including the engines.

Nice M3 perfect setup man just wanted to know if you knew the front charge pipe where it connects to the cooler you have a fuel line that runs under there and its so close that it touches the silicone hose that connects the charge pipe to the cooler will the fuel line eventually brake from the vibration of the engine let me know what you think

I had a regular bmw 330 and then an e46 m3 and there is no comparison. Mcars are far superior.
Question - i have the same but ZCP.. after having ZCP i cant imagine not getting comp package.. your thoughts on comp/zcp?
M cars are assembled at a different factory from regular BMWs, they're even built by a different company, BMW M GMBH as opposed to the regular cars which are built by BMW AG (look in your door jamb). They're also identified by completely separate VINs in the first 3 letters, WBS vs WBA. i was very surprised the author thought that an F80 was simply an overpriced F30, that could be the case for "M badged" cars if anything...
I’m going to buy one soon, I want to get one all cash I don’t want a crazy car payment.
