  • Sometimes a new pro beach volleyball partnership yields glory, and sometimes it gets… a little complicated. The McKibbin Brothers peel back the curtain on the shocking split between back-to-back AVP Manhattan Beach Open champions, Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb, and the fateful decision that has forged the greatest rivalry on the beach today.

This split was really the best for Trevor Crab. Brunner has an FIVB level block and can pack a punch there.

Felt like some one forgot to press publish at the AVP a few months ago

Great video. It would have been perfect if there were some interviews with Tri and Theo. I would been interesting to hear from them, especially Tri responding to Trevor’s comments.

I loved the Tri and Trevor partnership. They compliment each other and best part is that they are the only team that does split block (i think). At this time, Trev and Theo are ahead in competing for that 1 placement for Paris 2024 (Benesh/Partain is the #1 USA team to take the top spot this time). I think the split made them better as both teams have been placing high on international competetion especially Trev and theo. Goodluck to both teams but my bet is on Trev and Theo!!!

And which team is peaking right now? Chase and Evans. What a crazy season it has been.

I think Tri and Chaim need to watch this so they can play like what they said - lose or win just go for it.

This video was actually released months ago. I have no idea why it was re-released now. I think it was originally produced by the McKibbin Bros.

Definitely not a dead even split, Theo is a full time blocker, Tri was for the most part a split blocker. Tri is just too small to compete at the net on tbe world stage in my opinion. Love Tri tho

Agreed. Tri just isn't at the same level as a blocker. That's their downfall.

None of the 4 will dominate in 2024 because it usually takes years to gel as a partnership.

There have been plenty of teams in the past that immediately had great results after a partner switch. Usually the honey moon effect gives teams quite a boost. But in my opinion neither of these two teams will ever dominate, at least not internationally.
