The sad tale about a Triumph Sports Cub with some positive aspects.

- If I had been handed the documents when I bought my first Sports Cub for £60 back in 1978, perhaps things may not have turned out so bad for it, but recent events may result in a rethink and I am glad I never gave it up for scrap!
awesome foursome that paul ,,its borderline legendary
that story, that film `christine` with the old classic car ,
that just refuses to give up the ghost ,,i could imagine
the ressurection of that old tank and main frame one
day ....nah that would be a miracle 😊👍
Brilliant story, thank you
Great history. Thanks.
Great tale....
Awesome 👍👏👌
Great history 👍
Nice to get a result
From one 16-year-old (I'm now 73) to another, I just KNEW you were going say cooking oil!!!! As for what's left laid out on the ground, it would be a Lazarus-like resurrection, hey!!!
Well, throwing things away is waste! Great thing is that frame and tank were saved!
I being Aussie only saw a few if these, I considered them a four stroke Bantam, They were probably good for suburban use but not for traversing this huge continent, when I was 13 I rode a little Panther it was a great experience but not much faster than my push bike, not much latter I rode a 56 Ariel red hunter, I ended up a lifetime motorcycle fanatic. 71 now and I guess I am still.
gotta build it paul...
Great bit of history Paul makes it all the more fun to continue...
Great history! Nice story.
Good love to see you building the sports cub
Me too!
Wow, you have some history with these Cubs. I never had an opportunity to keep my old motorcycles for a long time with me, had to sell one to buy another one and I would love to hold on to some of my old acquisitions from seventies and eighties, specifically one quite original 4F600 from 1934 and another very nonoriginal SS100. :)
No excuses Adam, you have an illness 😊 I’ve had a lot of bikes and at the same time, jealous of people who keep theirs. I can only blame myself. My only defence is… I’ve learned a lot of mechanicing (add it to the dictionary) on many bikes. There are some I should have kept, probably why I should see a doctor!
Nice one would be good to get them all mint. Fantastic bikes
That's complicated! If you rebuild that denuded frame, it will become even more complicated but the good thing is that there are now three, maybe even four Cubs.
It might be normal cub to grow and have more cub babies 👶
That tank and frame looks just too sad to not get on and fabricate a new machine. It's DNA is in the other 2 so at least it deserves another chance at life 😅. Think of the content material👍🙏
Will it be another slightly non-standard accent on riding bike? (Is the Pope a Catholic? Do bears shit in the woods?) I eagerly look forward to the result.
That bit of lucky providence, courtesy of Swansea and your memory, has to be followed up. At the very least, repair the frame and bolt a load of your bits on it. Then it’ll look like a bike and you can sit and stare with a cuppa, and make plans. But even if it’s loosely assembled, it’ll be the lost long fourth cub.
I know this wouldn't be the correct video posting of yours to ask about another of your projects on, but I think you're busy enough and...I'll get to the point: will an Amal 34mm carb fit on a Continental gt 535 leaving clearance between the frame? Mounted to a manifold stub and rubber adaptor between the two? I'm opting for an Amal 36mm and that comes in at a full cm greater height. Any observation will be welcome.
