Pixie cuts are _extremely_ flattering for most women. It’s an oldie but goodie and works in any decade. The stigma surrounding short hair doesn’t make sense to me. Yes, you can look womanly and beautiful with a “boy” haircut. Believe that!
I wouldn't say most. They are extremely flattering on some women but you have to have the bone structure to pull it off, but with the ones that do it definitely can look amazing!
It is also an intimidating cut for the woman itself. You are completely exposed so you also need to have the confidence to rock it. They people that do they look breath taking!
Relaxers really are a lifestyle. I begged for one as a kid & had one for years but as an adult I decided to go back to natural. TBH any Black hairstyle is a lifestyle. No shade to anyone on how they choose to style their hair!
I’m the complete opposite lol, I was relaxed as a kid and now I wear my natural hair, just a preference. Everyone should wear the hairstyle that they feel they can handle. Natural hair is no joke
I find my natural hair easier. My hair is weak due to genetics and my scalp is sensitive. My relaxed hair would always be over processed and start breaking. Every time I combed it lot of hair would come out. It had no body/volume and I hated going to the salon for hours on end. Going natural taught me a lot about hair in general and my hair specifically. Luckily or unluckily my hair never grows past my shoulders so it's not as much work as someone like my sister who has waist length hair. I can shampoo, condition and style my natural hair in 30 minutes if necessary. My hair doesn't tangle easily because I detangle weekly. If I only washed my hair once a month, I would be detangling semi dreadlocks. Something I'd rather not do. Not saying I would never relax but at the moment I'm enjoying the freedom from the scalp discomfort and the salon and the lack of volume.
Same! Personally I think taking care of relaxed hair is super high maintenance. You have to handle the growth, retouch etc. Either way I'm a fan of beautiful healthy hair natural or relaxed
My natural hair is 12-14 inches long 4C and I detangled my hair before wash during deep conditionings then after it’s so tiring my hair clumps together and knots at the end so agree no joke at all
This hair cut amazing. The client looks stunning with this haircut. This stylist gave his client a new vibe and helped her release a heart warming smile.
Shout out to the beautician for educating us on hair care with the perm. Not everyone wants to be natural and thats ok. She does what works with her life style as we all should. It was her confidence for me.💜
I went back relaxed after 4 years natural. Loving it! I relax my hair every 4-6 months. And care for it almost the same as when I was natural. Hair is almost to my booty now.
I do NOT miss getting a relaxer and I’m more of a natural bohemian type of person so natural hair just works better with how I live my life… HOWEVER, black women have been through too much (especially when it comes to their hair) so I definitely say do whatever makes you happy and do what works for YOU. You deserve to live life on your terms and in your own way. ♥️

Love how the stylist is so passionate about his job! He's enjoying every bit of it and I want to be just like him in the future when I start my professional career too. Just being able to wake up every day and remember you have an amazing job and then being excited to help others every day just like him is my dream. ♡
Very cute he did a good job. I use to have my hair cut like this the only thing that is quick about this is washing it. After you wash it you have to lay it down with wrapping lotion and wrap it. Also you have to style it or it will look crazy. New growth was super noticable so I was going to the salon every two weeks. It takes a lot of effort to keep it looking nice.
Exactly! Hair stylists don't tell you this part 😅 they love cutting it and blow drying long hair takes more time for them. This kind of hair cut will have you going back for regular trims which is great for them, more money and less effort. I found it harder to keep short hair looking neat.
I got a “pixie” ish haircut like this before going to boot camp and OH MY GOD it looked so awful 95% of the time since I had absolutely nothing to style it with or even a silk bonnet to protect it! Locs arent for everyone but it is hands down the easiest my hair has ever been to deal with and it’s looks good when I wake up!

I got a perm and cut similar to hers after being natural for 10 years. I'm happy as a clam..to each its own, no judgment, do whatever makes you happy and feeling cute.
I wore my hair in natural for almost 10 years and I got so tired of the time consuming and paying arm and leg on products to upkeep my natural hair. On my 40th birthday I decided to get a relaxer and a pixie cut and now I love my relaxer and pixie hair. My husband loves it, he says it brings out my beautiful face more.

Too cute!!! I went natural in 2005 when I was 21 yrs old in Kentucky (still am to this day). At the time this was very unpopular and I caught lots of heat from black folks only. Fast forward to now it's more common to see naturals than it is to see those rockin a relaxer. I've heard plenty of shade thrown at those who choose to be relaxed..as if it's a shameful act. Crazy!!! Do what you do boo! If it's cute ,you've weighed your options, and are able to execute in a HEALTHY way... then I support it either way. (Not that my opinion should matter at all)
Her hair style looks FABULOUS!!!! It helps that she had enough hair for FOUR PEOPLE on her head!! HOLY MOLY!!! And her hair was in great condition too! She takes wonderful care of her hair. I really liked how you explain the steps and that burning or tingling isn't a good thing. It can lead to the EMERGENCY ROOM AND POSSIBLE HAIR LOSS AND EVEN BALDNESS. I'm not sure if things have changed, but there were two kinds of relaxers and if your client had prior relaxed hair, it was important to know what kind they used or there was hair damage in the form of no hair where the product touched the prior treated area. Your blending technique is spot on! The best I've ever seen and the gradation is FANTASTIC!!! I'M BLOWN AWAY!!! YOU ARE A TRUE ARTIST AND MASTER!!! ❤❤❤❤❤!!!!
